Beautifully cooked fish with light, crispy batter. Excellent service with a very helpful, polite waiter. The fish provided was a little too large for our 7 and 5 year olds, but they enjoyed what they ate! Would recommend for a great meal.

Very disappointed when we arrived written note on door cash only and limited menu. I had booked a table week before so why didn't I get an email to tell me this! No starters! Food what there was of it, very average extremely disappointed.

First visit to Harpers and impressed with the quality of food, service and facilities. Waitress couldn’t have been more helpful. Main dishes centred in fish but plenty of alternatives including pizza, burgers or steak which I’ll be sampling on my next visit.

Long wait and chips and peas cold, tea came far too early and was freezing by the time the fish and chips came, had to ask for bread and tartar sauce

They do some of the best fish and chips ever! Well cooked and excellent value for money. The staff are always friendly and the service is good. The seating area is very light, clean and comfortable. We first sampled their excellent fish and chips about 16 years ago when they had the fish shop in Wetwang, East Yorkshire and so were delighted when they opened this restaurant near York. We were not disappointed. The quality is still the same in the restaurant. A true family firm who take pride in what they do.
