Mewar Haveli Fine Indian Dining, on Radcliffe Road in the Nottinghamshire hamlet of Holme Pierrepont, close to Radcliffe on Trent, brings Indian-trained chefs with a flair for hospitality to the public of the East Midlands. The kitchen serves up a menu that is rooted the classics of the British curry house, but also features a wide range of house specialities, designed to give the Nottingham curry cognoscenti an authentic and original taste of Indian cuisine as it is served in Mother India.
Down in Holme Pierrepont, on Radcliffe Road, there is a restaurant that strives to bring together the two prevailing traditions that exist in British Indian restaurants. Mewar Haveli Fine Indian Dining takes the recipes that have served to make the curry house the most popular dining destination for the British public – authentic tandoor oven cooking, superb starter selections and a broad range of curries that range from the mild to the head-blowingly hot – and then improvise around them, providing something unique to the public of Nottingham.
While many visitors to Mewar Haveli Fine Indian Dining will be happy to see that bhuna, balti and madras are all present on the menu at this spot along Holme Pierrepont’s Radcliffe Road, not far from Nottingham city, those wanting a departure from the usual repertoire of Indian food in the UK will be happy to see a few deviations from the norm. Haveli chicken, a house-devised recipe, is a favourite among regulars, and their tandoori salmon is a welcome to the usually-sparse fish options in many curry houses. We recommend ordering a variety of both standards and specialities when you dine at Haveli – but not as much as we recommend booking a table, especially if you are dining on the weekend.
Warm welcome. Excellent food and a really good selection on the menu. Really a lovely experience was had by all. I would definitely recommend and we will be back!
The perfect meal and restaurant. Great food and service. Always a winner. 5*
Went for New Year's Eve and the set menu was great value and was very nice.
fabulous Indian restaurant both food and service, well worth a visit, flambe is amazing, the experience is wonderful. if its your birthday then expect something special
We were made to feel welcome from our arrival. The staff were attentive and very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. However I did mention when making the reservation that it was my wife's 50th birthday treat, but this was ignored. We had 3 courses which were all faultless and were even given a mango sorbet after the starter for a mouth cleanser which was a very nice touch. The atmosphere was lovely, and overall we all had a very nice dining experience and will be back.
Wehad a warm welcome at the door and shown to a table at a window with a view of a lake and countryside. Th menu wasn't long but had a good choice of dishes. The poppadoms were the lightest and crispest I have had and my main course was delicious. I liked the choice of Indian sweets rather than the usual, bought in menu card of European ice creams. The service was good and friendly.
We were particularly impressed as to how your staff proved to be as efficient and polite as usual on a particularly busy Saturday night. Not good for your stress levels, however, for you to have to run around the restaurant! I particularly enjoyed the lamb on the bone which I had not tried before and my two guests from Henley were most impressed with both the food and the service.
This has to be the best Indian restaurant in the East Midlands. The food is fabulous, and consistently so every visit. The prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food. Staff and service are first rate, must be one of the friendliest places to eat. Lots of parking at the restaurant, but don't be put off by the outside appearance of the building, it hides a real gem.
Mewer Haveli is always a special experience. Visited with family on saturday evening - table for seven. Restaurant was busy but hospitality and service was fantastic - these guys really know how to provide a great customer envirnoment & experience, coupled with fantastic food. We had a great evening, left "stuffed" and will certainly be returning. If you havent tried, I cant recomend enough !
Been to many Indian restaurants but this one was recommended by an Indian friend ( I am not Indian) and I thought he would know what he was talking about. He said it was worth travelling to and it was fabulous. The best one for miles around and I'd definitely book again. Lovely food, beautifully presented and the staff couldn't do enough for us.
