Raising the bar for Indian cuisine in North London, Hazara provides a fine dining experience, the perfect location for celebrating a special occasion or for those times when a takeaway on the couch just won’t cut it. Located on Belsize Lane, a short walk from Belsize Park underground station, Hazara draws in even the most discerning of curry connoisseurs from all over the city with its gourmet Indian cuisine and elegant setting. At Hampstead’s Hazara, the chef’s take time-honoured recipes and give them a new, creative and refined twist, with options ranging from nariyal malai scallops (pan-seared dill and coconut milk soaked scallops served with a sundried tomato and mango relish) for starters, and mains like the dudhiya batair (quail cooked in a creamy sauce) and the tandoori duck prepared with caraway seeds, cloves and cardamon). Great food and service. The menu has a varied array of seafood dishes that more than met our needs with us being pescatarian. The service is friendly and not overbearing.
Excellent food , good range of choice and interesting menu. Service is very courteous and prompt. The restaurant is nice size and well finished and in excellent location.
Fabulous food. Excellent service. Love that the chef came around to ask us whether we enjoyed our food. Have been many times and will continue.
Food was absolutely fantastic. I was sitting on the fence before I got there but the food was top draw. The lady serving us was friendly, gave us all the time in the world to order. Polite. 10/10
We were royally treated at the Hazara last night. Our friends were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, and the restaurant was very thoughtful in providing us with a romantic table set with red roses, and even produced a lovely cake at the end of our meal. The meal itself was delicious - genuine Indian cuisine, beautifully cooked and tastefully presented. The staff were very courteous and helpful; and we enjoyed talking to the chef, who took the time to come and chat to us. We much enjoyed our evening there.
Each dish tastes different and they are all pretty delicious. Food feels fresh. Service polite and affable. Some starters were too small to share. Do not have other drinks than beer or wine - they are on offer but have no flair or volume.
Went there on a weekday evening. Friendly staff and tasty food - not too spicy. The staff answered our questions and the setting was light and clean. I would definitely go again.
Great food and friendly service. Quiet enough to easily hold a conversation. A few items were unavailable as the menu changed, but we had no trouble finding substitutes. We'll be back!
Authentic high quality & delicious Indian food (despite no Chettinad chicken) and good service. Try the mixed starter plates to make the most of sharing.
Food tasty and well presented. Nothing more than a good local Indian. The staff were not as welcoming as some - when we came in the door we had to walk well into the restaurant - up to the bar to get attention.
Great food and very attentive service! However, they could use a little help in mixology! We will certainly go back when the occasion presents itself.
Dreadful. Tacky decor and the worst Indian food I have ever had. The meat was tough, everything came out look warm and it tasted that ore-fab food.
