Great service and view. They made a specialty cake which was excellemt
Lovely meal and excellent service, will definitely be back soon
Missed the Sunday lunch menu all gone, will book earlier next time. Meals we ordered were very enjoyable and well presented.
Friendly staff, good food, nice view. Perfect place for meeting an old friend for lunch.
Could not have been a better venue for a family dinner for eight of us. Far better and varied menu than some of the highly-rated competitors in the Borders, spacious without being canteen-like, modern without losing charm. The seating arrangements minimise noise levels and the two levels give a degree of privacy. This would be a great place for any function and also, with the loch views, for any dining out from dropping in alone for lunch, to a date with a friend, to a business social.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Herges on the Loch. It has a warm and relaxing atmosphere and the waiting staff were attentive and very helpful. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! I hope to return again soon.
Great food. Service perhaps could afford to slow down just a little to allow diners to settle in and make their choices from what is a very tempting menu that requires more than a cursory couple of minutes light glance. Perfectly cooked and served food: lamb nicely rare inside, tartlet to accompany it surprising with excellent shortness of pastry and light spice. My friend's burger was eaten quietly which assumed all was well!
Really enjoyed our visit here. It was the first time I had been and I was very impressed. The food was delicious (although the chef has a thing for slightly undercooked potato - both in my starter and main) and I would recommend to anyone visiting the Borders, or for any special occasion meal. Would have been a full 6, but my lemon meringue sundae wasn't up to scratch.
As ever friendly, good food, not pretentious. If you get a lochside view all the better. Always feel relaxed at Herges and restaurant always spotless. We go by train to Tweedbank and it's a ten minute walk so if you want to leave car at home this may suit you. G&E
A first class restaurant with a mouth-watering, locally sourced menu but also has the most awesome, dedicated gluten-free menu available – without question, the best I've ever seen. The food was delicious, it was reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A jewel in The Borders.
