We already knew Simon & Barry's new style fish and chips from their shop in Brussels, Bia Mara. Hook Camden completely lived up to our expectations, and provided us with delicious fish and chips, and a nice selection of craft beers. The perfect way to start our first evening in London!

The fish was well prepared and had interesting crusts. The minty mushy peas were quite good and a different take on this classic dish. Chips were hot and well-seasoned. Good overall service.

Food was really good. Place was dirty, aswell as toilets. The main door is broken so I needed to stand up several times in order not to get frozen.

Absolutely delicious food - best fish and chips I've had in London by a mile. The menu offers many classic and new dishes. The staff are lovely. Well worth a visit.

The service and food were both great. The fish was perfect; crisp, crunchy, REALLY tasty, not soggy or bland. Would definitely go back for more.

Great modern take on fish and chips with a wine and beer list that suits this type of food perfectly. Friendly and attentive staff looks after our every needs.

Brilliant food and service. My new favourite fish and chips restaurant. The wine is a bit pricey but the food is worth a return visit.

Food was nice but overpriced. The batter on the fish just that little bit too done. £3 for mushy peas is not reflective of what you are getting. Had to ask for water 4 times and had finished our meal before the waitress remembered to bring it over. Would only dine there with an offer in the future.

Love visiting Hook in Camden for lunch with colleagues; the fresh take on fish & chips is always well received - with an exciting choice of coatings (Cajun-spiced, Jamaican crispy panko, lemon and basil tempura) and selection of fish (coley, sea bream, cod, mackerel - selection changes daily), and also some chicken options, there's something to interest everyone's tastebuds. Fish has always been excellently cooked. Accompaniments include baked potato "fries", minted mushy peas and samphire salad, and a range of home-made dips and sauces to try. Drinks menu is also well chosen with interesting soft drinks and a good selection of craft beer. Atmosphere and service has always been warm and friendly, and I always leave keen to plan in another visit.

Amazing fish and chips. Really great location and staff were attentive. Fish was very fresh and the choice of flavours in the batters was spot on.

Staff were lovely and attentive and the food was fantastic! Quirky little place which was perfect for a casual dinner. House cocktails also very nice and everything was reasonably priced.

Food did not disappoint. The sides of minty mushy peas, samphire and cucumber salad were delicious. Service could improve but all staff were very friendly.

First time to Hook after being recommended. The restaurant is lively enough for a Sunday evening and staff are friendly. I don't think this restaurant should be compared with your usual or local chippies, it's obvious they are trying to be different. I think the idea is good, the execution is debatable. I had a Lemon & Basil fish, but in my opinion deep frying ended up masking any Lemon & Basil flavours. The chips are more like potato wedges which I found quite greasy. I would love to give it a second try and wishing they can serve larger portion fish. Definitely has potential.
