IL Bistro, a family-run steakhouse and brasserie, is the original bistro in the lanes. Right in the heart of the action on Market St, IL Bistro is an easy walk from Brighton beach, the Royal Pavilion, Churchill Square and the Theatre Royal, so it is perfect for an elegant pre-theatre dinner, as well as being a popular breakfast and lunch choice every day of the week. This locally owned and locally loved restaurant is housed in an 18th-century fisherman’s cottage, dating to the reign of George 1, which adds to its atmospheric charm. IL Bistro prides itself on being one of Brighton’s longest serving independent restaurants, and they have worked closely with local food suppliers since 1976. An emphasis on fresh, flavoursome seafood keeps locals constantly coming back for more, while IL Bistro’s dedication to the best available Scottish steaks and prime cut meats, grilled to perfection, are the stuff of legend.
Food was delicious! Portions very generous, we enjoyed every mouthful. Service was friendly, efficient and despite it being a very busy Saturday night, we didn't have to wait long for anything. Perfect! Thanks to all.
We had a fabulous night and the food was exceptional (as always). Joe and the staff are so welcoming and attentive . We choose this restaurant because we know we will not be disappointed. Thank you IL Bistro.
Good atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food. It was nice to find out that we had our table for the evening, rather than in some venues, for a set period. Looking forward to the next time.
