So much more than an Italian restaurant – Chelsea’s Il Trillo is raising the bar for culinary excellence. Being the sister to the family run restaurant in Massa, Tuscany, Il Trillo brings a most sophisticated air of dining to London. With dishes inspired by the Tuscan hills and old and trusted recipes, Il Trillo on Hollywood Rd serves a fine and seasonal selection of authentic Italian cuisine. And do go there for their simply wonderful ‘giardino’, a courtyard in the back of the venue that lets you relax and enjoy the quiet right in the middle of Chelsea.
Chelsea’s Hollywood Rd lately has earned quite a reputation as being a place where small scale,
family run restaurant and wine bars prosper. Not in the least because of Il Trillo, a fantastic host
to fine Italian dining. The Bertulecci family have been making wine and running a restaurant in the
Tuscan Hills for over 30 years now. Two of the brothers run this smart local which showcases the
produce and wine from their region.
A very friendly and helpful staff is gladly advising on the wine and the authentic Tuscan dishes. Try their amazing fillet of beef with foie gras and cognac sauce if the season allows it. And do stay for their wonderful desserts that are carefully and lovingly crafted, finding their way to your table beautifully presented. By the way, most of Il Trillo’s wines come from the family vineyard in Tuscany, so if you’re in for something extra special, don’t miss out on their wonderful tastes.
Really enjoyed the food and the service were excellent. Good location and atmosphere was good. Excellent choice of food and wine. Will come again for sure.
The perfect combination of superb food, a great atmosphere and wonderful service. Plus what may well be the best Italian wine list in all of London. A gem of a place.
Very cozy and comfortable . Food is also really good. It is good for couples and friends. I came back there a few times already.
Wonderful restaurant, friendly staff and great atmosphere! Staff were very helpful also with constructing a new pasta for our little one from ingredients they had so that it can be more child-friendly. Really enjoyed out evening!
When I came in to the restaurant the waiter did not give a particularly friendly warm welcome. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing and we had a great table in the conservatory but which was nice & warm & full of big lovely plants. When the waiter came he gave the menu to the gentleman in our party first (white) despite there being two women in the party. Maybe he just doesn’t have the extra manners but I did feel a bit negative. The menu was delicious with lots of choice for everyone as was the wine list. When the waiter took our order he didn’t offer any suggestions or guidance regarding sides. When the food arrived we realised we could have done with some more greens etc. Nevertheless the food was absolutely delicious and the service timely etc. The ambience was lovely too. When we got home my husband said to me that although it was lovely the waiter did somewhat lack manners the way he had handed the menu to him first rather then the women or older people. Then he added that maybe he was just a bit in preference of certain ethnic groups. Look, we don’t know what he was thinking or why he was not friendly but living in central London we don’t often worry or think about racism but I found it a coincidence that we both got the same negative vibe. Unfortunately it struck enough of a bad note with me to not return despite everything else being impeccable.
Everything was extremely good. The food was very tasty, well presented, full of flavour and very light. The service was good, the waiters were very nice and kind. We did not wait long time to order and between a course and the next. The atmosphere was very soft, perfect for couples or families; the Garden side is a must. Furthermore, we have been spoilt with some small appetizers and desserts offered by the house. What can I say, PERFECT!
I recently had dinner in the restaurant "Il Trillo", where I had the chance to eat some very good italian food (I am italian, so I definitely can state it was really good). The stay was pleasant also because of the very cozy atmosphere: inside the restaurant there is a sort of "winter garden" with some lemon plants and everything results so comfortable and familiar. The wine list is also amazing, provided with a wide variety of excellent brands.
Great restaurant with a nice interior and friendly staff. Not the typical stuck up posh place but rather nice friendly and family atmosphere. Really good italian food with home made pasta and nice little appetizers and a good starter menu. Desserts are also really really good. Huge range of vines. They also have a specials menu which, having been a couple of times within the last couple of months, hasn't changed. That's why it only gets 5/6.
I was back at Il Trillo last night, and we again greatly enjoyed the food & ambience and the warmth of Roberto's welcome. This time it was to demonstrate to a sceptical friend that Il Trillo really does have the best dark chocolate gelato in London - she conceded it's as good if not better than Annabels and 5 Hertford St !
Very tasty food, well presented and a lovely atmosphere. Restaurant was busy not full on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. We arrived before our booked time which did not cause any issues and we were not rushed at all. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We had some mixed starters on the table, 1 main course each and a very delicious bottle of rose. Will definitely visit again.
