Indian Cottage is something of a landmark in Kirkintilloch, a grand Indian restaurant housed inside a gorgeous old church building on Kilsyth Road that could be an attraction in itself. But the photogenic setting of Indian Cottage is only the start, and really this is a local landmark because it has been dishing out consistently superb food for almost 30 years. Worthy of particular mention are Poori’s here, thin crepes smothered in a variety of toppings (Channa, prawn, mushroom or chicken) and an addictive secret sauce all at once sweet, sour and spicy. However, you really can’t go wrong whatever you pick off the huge menu, be it familiar North Indian staples like Jaipuri curry and Punjabi balti or a bold South Indian garlic chicken, because everything is delicious – and beautifully presented, may we add. This is a great date spot.
Fabulous food and service. Can not fault this place as usual. Lovely atmosphere and friendly. Definetly one for the family or a quiet dinner with friends
Booking through the online system is simple and easy. Shown to our table by courteous staff who were attentive to our needs throughout the evening. We opted for the buffet and found there to be a great range of rood on offer, which was all excellent. Will be back, thanks.
Very good food and service in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Well looked after from the moment you arrive until you leave. Will definitely be back.
Food is of high quality! Lunch time menu is well priced two for one. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Service is attentive, a lovely atmosphere & well furnished. Always a pleasure each of my many visits, have to watch the weight though.
We had an enjoyable tea time visit with family and had the buffet. There was a large selection of starters and mains which were regularly filled up. The food was very good our only slight disappointment was that the high chair given us was really dirty and had not been cleaned for some time. My daughter set to with disinfectant wipes to clean it up before using as the only other high chair was in use. This is an area for all restaurants to take on board that once a high chair has been used it needs to be thoroughly cleaned after all would any of us want to sit in a dirty seat and uncleaned table?!
had the Buffet meal at the Indian Cottage - great choice of starters, mains, desserts with tea or coffee to finish with. Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Great value for money. Definitely worth a visit.
Our overall experience was great, our table of 9 was a mix of buffet and a là carte , in most of Indian restaurants when after ordering your meal and drink and you are waiting for it to arrive most places give you popadoms and spicy onions but no there was none , maybe this sounds a little petty but sometimes it’s the small things that make the difference. That being said I will be back at some point. Thank you to all the staff
Had a fantastic meal and the staff are great. Would highly recommend the Indian Cottage. We will be back for sure very soon. Atmosphere was brilliant.
excellent food, excellent service. On this occasion it was an 80th birthday dinner for 10 guests. I have eaten here with my wife many times for those romantic dinners, or when we simply can't be bothered cooking. Also had several business lunches here. Recommended? You bet!
Wonderful service, food and atmosphere! Will definitely be returning and recommending to everyone we know! Naan breads are absolutely huge (the peshwari is to die for) and each dish is u inquest in flavour and delicious!
