On Petts Wood Road, Indian Essence shines as one of the area’s best locations for a sophisticated dinner. Led by Atul Kocchar of Mayfair’s Benares and fellow restaurateur Jitindar Singh, this restaurant is a trailblazer with their upscale take on classic Indian cuisine. Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2015 and 2016, Indian Essence is in a league of its own and is set to continue their winning streak in the years to come. In addition to serving up fresh South Asian cuisine, Indian Essence offers live entertainment on Thursdays as well as the opportunity for locals to take part in their exclusive master classes. As one of the leading restaurants in Greater London, it’s without any wonder that reservations are highly recommended at this popular Petts Wood restaurant!
Enjoyed a lunchtime meal, excellent cuisine, at a reasonable price and good portions, house white wine was ok and 4 glasses cost us £21.80 which was acceptable, however, two friends joined us at the end of the meal for a drink, house white wine was ordered, however, upon checking the bill later on during the day I was charged for 4 glasses of Chablis at a cost of £37, very disappointed at having to pay out an extra £15.20. No further comment is necessary, make of it what you will.
This is the best Indian I have eaten, broke the bank but can’t wait to save up and go back and experience it again.Recommend everyone tries it
I have always enjoyed coming to Indian Essence, and always leave with a mouth still full of wonderful flavours. The menu is quite exciting, and I look forward to trying something different on each visit. I brought a couple of friends who had not been before, and they were very pleased to be there, and said they would certainly be back,
