Indian Ocean - Bournemouth

Was not even open!! And confirmed reservation. crazy and most disappointing!!

Valentine’s Day was ruined. I booked in advance and We turned up to the restaurant and there wasn’t even a restaurant there as it was being refurbished..... all builders working on site and not a person in sight nor the Indian food me and my girlfriend was looking forward to

We are regulars there because we like it. Shame has been closed for sometime for refurbishments.

We arrived as the restaurant opened (5p.m.) so it was not busy and not noisy at this tiime.

Found a hair on the poppadoms and hair on the mango chutney. The window seal and blinds were filthy. The food was like warm !Never again !!!

Having taken into account previous reviews, we arranged to dine at this restaurant whilst visiting Bournemouth and were looking forward to an enjoyable evening. Although booked in advance, on our arrival we were told to wait until a table could be cleared. Being shown to our seats, the cutlery was thrown down in front of us. After a long wait, our order was taken. Our drinks were delivered to the table relatively quickly; however, we had to wait for what seemed like an age for the papadoms and pickles. Having consumed these in good time, our starters never arrived, but overhearing another couple, they were complaining that their (same) starter (onion bhajis) arrived with their main course, therefore, it was no surprise that ours did too. This was, of course, following a 30 minute wait and us having to ask where our main course was. In the meantime, another two tables were seated, orders taken and their food delivered before ours! A further disappointment was the fact that the food was barely warm. Although our waiter offered for the curries to be re-heated, this meant the rice and naan bread (not forgetting the onion bhajis!) were left to go cold. Notwithstanding the bad service and mediocre food, the decor of the restaurant is very tired and uninspiring... giving the impression of it being dirty. Suffice to say we shall be giving this restaurant a miss on our future visits to the town!

Good food, friendly waiting staff, no complaints, will return soon for another lovely meal.

Ate here on our final night in Bournemouth and what a lovely way to end a trip. We were greeted and seated very quickly after walking through the door even though the place was evidently busy. Despite the business service was quick and very friendly, food was delicious and staff were fantastic. Would definitely reccomend and will hopefully be back!

We are from Birmingham and come to Bournemouth once a year to catch up with family & friends and this has been our favourite catch up place since we discovered it 4 Years ago, always fantastic food nice environment and everyone enjoys what they have ordered.

All five of us enjoyed the food and very generous portions.

AnotherExcellent meal, staff friendly and helpful, we will be back.

The food was full of flavour, I had a chicken tikka pathia and it was one of the nicest I've tasted for a long time. The restaurant was warm inside too which was great at this time of the year. Attentive staff but not overbearing. Parking was a bit of a pain so allow plenty of time if you want to be parked nearby. Will definitely visit again.
