Good food, good service. Nothing overly special. Nice staff but as we went to leave the waitress seemed to think that we weren’t going to pay as me and the other half had to leave before my mum did; after leaving she went straight to my mums table to get the bill. Apart from that overall good.
Our experience at Jackson and Rye was lovely! The staff were very friendly, the service was good and the food was lovely!! The only negative I have is the fact that 12.5% optional gratuity was already added to our bill. I wasn't told that this was going to be added until I looked at the bill. I could've asked for it to be removed but I felt uncomfortable doing that. I would have preferred to have left a cash tip. Overall our experience was very nice.
Very good meal and friendly staff. We both had Steak good quality plus cooked as requested. Good location ideal for visits to G Live theatre
Nice food, great staff and pleasant surroundings. A broader range on the menu would be nice and wine (other than house) is a bit pricey.
Lovely food and atmosphere. We had a very friendly, knowledgable and helpful waitress. It was the perfect way to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Thank you!!
Lovely staff, lovely food! Will repeat again! So happy this is in our town. Lovely staff, lovely food! Will repeat again! So happy this is in our town.
Fittings and environment were lovely and nice blend of casual and smart. Unfortunately food was totally uninspiring - and several options that we asked for were unavailable. Helpful young hostess did her best but I don't think I'll be going back - too bad because Jackson & Rye was highly recommended.
Had a problem with waiting for a starter but staff were very apologetic and attentive. Rest of service was great and food was delicious and not too overly priced
Very attentive staff, not long wait for anything, food was good. Very clean, music not loud enough could barely hear it. Overall an enjoyable experience
Excellent food and service. Great menu with a wide range of choice for both brunch and dinner. Would highly recommend and will be coming back
Great food and cocktails, J&R old fashioned was amazing, good service and it was a pretty quiet Tuesday so didn't feel pressured to be fast ordering or eating.
Fantastic food and good choices on menu. Service was quick and easy and make sure you as for the whisky menu if that's your kind of thing. We had lots of fun trying them all!
Fabulous brunch - avocado Benedict and farmers breakfast lovely fresh ingredients cooked beautifully - excellent service, very friendly waitress - all washed down with a crisp dry rose- 3rd visit here - consistently good !!!
Food was very good. I had the lamb and it was perfectly cooked - tender, pink and succulent. Service was also very good and efficient although it was very quiet when visited.
Good service, excellent food. Quite pricey but you pay for high quality. Friendly, informal, caters well for old, young and everyone else. We went in the evening and hope to return for the weekend brunch.
Whilst the food was reasonable it was nothin special. Also the restaurant was nearly empty which was a surprise for a Saturday night and had no atmosphere
The food was really lovely, but we found the wait too long. Nearly missed the start of our show, despite having booked our table early to allow extra time. We also found that we didn't have consistent service - different people over the course of the meal. Space is limited between tables - not a problem for us, but we saw others having issues, e.g. pushchairs.
Lovely staff and very buzzy Service speedy Pancakes were HUGE and very good My friend's salad was good but a bit drowned in dressing Definitely return
Service very slow even though not that busy. Prawns to start very poor - just taste of water. Presumably just defrosted some frozen. rest of the food good quality - hence the 3.
Great service and Great food. Waitress was lovely and got us all we needed. Never had to wait anymore than 5 minutes for anything and everything we got was of a good quality. Excellent pancakes 🥞 😋🤤 Overall a great meal
The menu was varied. All of the party had the Farmers breakfast. Each though that the bacon was extremely fatty with little meat. Eggs were good . Sausage patty was only just warm in fact each meal was not just cooked hot.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. The food was well presented and tasty A nice atmosphere with good customer service .Will definitely be returning.
This was my first time here and i wont be visiting again prices were through the roof infact astronomical for what you get i didbt even get a salad or any extras with my ribeye steak. Also the beer i had wasnt even a pint was a 330ml bottle for round 5 pound which i thought was ridiculous
We have eaten here about four times and each time there have been a number of items on the menu unavailable either a choice from the menu or one of the ingredients if this is sorted out then it would be a five.
Good pancakes. Small coffee. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Would go again for lunch instead maybe. Looks like there is more choice for lunch or dinner.
Empty restaurant however they still managed to forget parts of our order. Food was ok, but too expensive for what you get. Zero atmosphere, although it was 6pm pre theatre dining.
It's a nice enough restaurant, a definite sniff of Cote Bistro about it, which a little strange given its American not French. I feel this is in the wrong part of Guildford and as such just wasn't busy for a Saturday night. They had also run out of 300g Rib Eye (we work in oz over here FYI) which is pretty poor for a Saturday night. I ordered the burger, which was alarmingly pink in the middle. Burgers should always be cooked through. The drinks menu is just confusing, draught beer by the half pint or 2 pint jug only? No Pints? And the bottles, no sizes on the menu, according to the waitress come in smaller sizes than half pint?!?! Surely not! Also beware of automatic 12.5 percent service charge on the bill. Tipping is NOT customary in the U.K., and adding it to the bill is presumptuous.
Went on a Saturday night,Very hot restaurant as air con didn't work, food was very average but staff were attentive. Not sure we'll rush back as it was nothing special.
Had a lovely evening, very tasty food. Good service, would go again. The meal was a treat for my sister's birthday. Enjoyed by both of us.
Great food, courteous staff, great beer and spirits, what else can you ask for. Decor is swanky, love the finishing touches, even the gents was pretty cool!!
Loved the Venue, good music, good service, lovely food all in all a good evening out , would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back.
Good service, good food and pram friendly. Portion sizes were good. Great menu for those that enjoy American food. The Boston bean sauce could have been a little thicker.
Food and service were excellent. We will definitely return. Thank you for making my birthday meal out memorable. The atmosphere was good and the service was polite, friendly and fast.
We went for brunch had a lovely meal - unfortunately no-one else in there so lacked atmosphere. No-one's fault. Staff were great - will definitely go back for an evening meal.
Drinks slow to arrive. Thought steak was expensive as only came with chips and nothing else although good flavour. Only average value for money, tip already calculated @ 12% and added to bill.
The food was ok but not the best we have had in there. Pancakes not 'light and fluffy' but tasted nice. The coffee was nice but the typical American 'free refills' would be a welcome addition, in keeping with their American style.
This is the first time we have eaten here in the evening . ( breakfast is fantastic ) As usual the staff are friendly the service is prompt and the food was excellent
Not my type of place sorry, plastic . Chicken very dry though friend's salmon nice . Monday so very quiet and staff not overly attentive
We booked to go on a Saturday evening. The food as really nice and the service good. Our only gripe was the very tiny beer list. Will definitely revisit.
Tasty food. However lack of selection on brunch menu for a) kids e.g. Kids portion of pancakes b) non savoury e.g. Yoghurt and fruit, etc
