A well-known and well-loved institution with chains located across the UK, Kebabish Original on Edinburgh’s Dalry Road has established itself quite a reputation throughout the city, serving up delicious grilled Indian and Mediterranean barbeque dishes alongside the usual curry house offerings. Bringing the thrill of the grill to Scotland’s capital, you’ll find Kebabish Original in the Haymarket area, situated only moments away from the Haymarket train station.
An Indian restaurant with an exciting twist, Kebabish Original specialises in grilled barbeque dishes, and you can watch as your meal is cooked to perfection on the traditional flame grill set up at the centre of this stylish open plan restaurant close to Edinburgh’s Haymarket station. We recommend starting with some paneer pakora, spiced garlic mushrooms or king prawn puri before moving on to a meaty feast. Just some of the delicious options on offer, juicy lamb chops with fresh spices and yoghurt, fiery chicken wings drizzled in a peri peri sauce and sizzling garlic king prawns stir-fried with garlic, onions and peppers are highlights.
At Kebabish Original you’ll also find all of the Indian classics. We recommend the haleem, a traditional dish that is cooked over a day with shredded lamb cooked in whole wheat germ with lentils and spices, and vegetarians will be delighted with the range of meat-free options available such as the paneer karahi (cubes of paneer cooked with mixed spices, garlic and ginger). For an Indian experience in Edinburgh that is a bit out of the ordinary, book a table at Kebabish Original on Dalry Road over in the Haymarket area.
The food here is delicious and most of the waiting staff were friendly and attentive (There was one waiter who mumbled and we couldn't hear him!) The sizzling meat dishes from the were a show stopper! The only issue we had was that the tables were very closely packed in so we couldn't move our chairs and ourselves without imposing on the next table and vice versa. The restaurant was very loud too so my group struggled to have a conversation however as the food was so genuinely delicious it wasn't too much of a big deal!
Everything is very good. All items are excellent that what I expected. May be it was going to be my regular restaurant for sitting in and to take away aswell. Thank you.
Fantastic food great choices from the grill and great service With the option to bring you're own wine and beer makes this a very affordable night out
Very tasty chargrilled meats, and a good array of options to choose from. It is not a cosy or "atmospheric" restaurant, but is functional and good value for a night out.
