Kuznia Smaku is decked out like a rustic stable, and it has a great atmosphere in which to enjoy some truly authentic Polish fare. Polish food is just cabbage and potatoes, right? Well, that’s fine by us if it means juicy stuffed cabbage leaves filled with rice and freshly minced meat and delicate ziemniaczane potato cakes with smetana, bacon and fleshy mushrooms. Kuznia Smaku is a chance to explore Central European food a bit further – though it’s well worth trying their vegetarian pierogi or pierogi with fresh seasonal fruit if you want to see the iconic little dumpling in a new light – and we recommend the hunter’s bigos sauerkraut stew, oven-roasted pork neck with mushroom sauce, steamed salmon fillet and Polish herring presented in three different flavours. Take the Piccadilly line to South Ealing or Northfields (or the Overground to Brentford) and you’ll find Kuznia Smaku just a short walk away, right on South Ealing Road.
