Tucked away on Thackeray Street off the throng of traffic down Kensington High Street, Locanda Ottoemezzo is a place to escape the bustle of London life and slow down, Italian style. To our mind, ‘Italian style’ means delicious, authentic food in a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Locanda Ottoemezzo pull this off, with all the rustic charm you could hope for to go with their simply incredible Italian offerings. This has been a popular Kensington eatery since its days as a simple cafe in the 90s, but Locanda Ottoemezzo have now expanded their repertoire from exquisite foccacia sandwiches (though those are still on the menu, thankfully) to hearty breakfasts, perfect pizzas, decadent desserts and a slew of refined main meals like roasted baffonero fillet of beef, homemade fresh egg pasta with black truffles, slow-cooked duck salad and so much more. It’s worth queuing for, as many Kensington folk do of a lunchtime, but do the wise thing and book a table because you really don’t want to miss out.
amazing service, friendly and attentive without being invasive. fantastic food which is excellent value for money. every plate was delicious! setting is warm and welcoming. definitely somewhere to go again and again.
I have been coming to this restaurant for several years, always introducing new friends. One very good friend who taught me to make Risotto conceded that their Risotto was even better than her own - strong praise. Staff at the restaurant always come up with excellent wine recommendations. I am invariably made to feel very welcome
Our first time at this restaurant and what a delight service wonderful food excellent ambience vibrant all round well worth a visit for fresh pasta
Always an enchanting experience! The risotto is amazing and the atmosphere is very friendly. We love this restaurant that makes you feel you spent your evening in Italy.
We love visiting Locanda. The staff are super friendly, helpful and attentive. The food (and wine!) are incredible. You are guaranteed a lovely evening if you go to Locanda. Definitely try the Chef's Special - Risotto in forma di Parmigiano. It's amazing.
Perfect as always. A real gem. The homemade pasta at locanda ottoemezzo is ine of a kind. Truffle season makes it even better. Topped by excellent wine selection, including outstanding options by the glass.
The pasta was very tasty and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The service was excellent, as we were going to see a show at the Royal Albert Hall.
interesting food juxtapositions that worked well in taste terms . God table great atmosphere attentive but discrete friendly waiters . All added to a good evening after a private view near by.
Try the in cheese risotto!! I had the truffle pasta which was good. didn't really like the tucked in table by the fire place.... I can help you guys redecorate more cleverly.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Small and friendly, with a really good menu and delicious wines. I had the risotto, which was magnificent. Well worth a visit.
