SW6 is a Fulham postcode with some serious gastronomic distinction. In Maddalena on Munster Road, southwest London locals can add superior quality Italian food to their roster of excellent local restaurants. Under the tutelage of Walter Pintori, of Il Peperone fame, Maddalena prides itself on bringing to the fore the flavours of Italy’s Sardinia – specifically the Gallura region – in dishes that are a riot of colour and flavour in the capital.
Sad very nice interior , nice family run, but the restaurant was not ready when we arrived, Ok it seems they were not expecting many customers, but they must be ready. Food was Ok but nothing to write home about, unless there is great improvement I doubt if I will return, sad as some days it does seem to get good reviews, but not on this visit
First time visit, friendly helpful staff and good atmosphere. Food is good quality normal Italian Restaurant menu with a wide selection on offer. Will go again soon.
Maddalena bills itself as a family-run pizzeria on Munster Street in London’s Fulham. But to define Maddalena solely as a pizzeria is to do an injustice to the range of interesting, fragrant Italian food on offer here. Bringing together the subtle, seafood-orientated food of Italy’s island Sardinia, especially the northern Gallura region, this Italian restaurant offers something distinct to south London’s discerning foodies. This, complemented by the well-chosen wine list with vintages primarily from Italy, is proving to be a winning formula.
The team at Maddalena are rightly proud of the produce in their kitchen, using fresh, traditional Italian ingredients to craft their classic Sardinian dishes which lean heavily on great seafood, and of course pizzas too. Walter Pintori, a local to Gallura once upon a time, has built a restaurant with a reputation for simple food, well prepared and presented beautifully on Fulham’s Munster Road in London. The flavours of this underrepresented region of Italy are at the centre of everything that the team here do, and it shows in their carefully crafted menu of classic Sardinian dishes and wines.
