Maki and Ramen - West Richmond Street takes warm, comforting bowls of ramen soup into the heart of the Old Town in a modern, cosy wood-furnished space. You know they don’t cut corners at this Japanese restaurant, as the pork broth is made from scratch and cooked for eight hours before being served with ramen noodles, chashu (marinated braised pork belly), a soft-boiled egg and greens. A wide assortment of sushi, sashimi and side dishes complete the experience, so get down to this West Richmond Street hotspot for some of the most delicious and authentic dishes you’ll find in Edinburgh. Just remember to make a reservation to avoid disappointment!
Best to make a reservation before you go, because they have limited seating. Coming to the food, it's fantastic - their gyozo and ramen are both superb. Quick service and nice desserts. Cheers.
Excellent food and atmosphere. A little bit small, only 9 seats so you need to book in advance but it is worth it! We had the ramen dishes but next time it will need to be sushi - freshly prepared in front of you and looked amazing
Really nice ramen, the vegetable gyoza was very tasty too. If you are wanting fresh fish like the mussel ramen make sure to go early-ish as everything is fresh and will run out.
Very small restaurant, reservation is necessary, the food is great , green tea comes for free. Very friendly staff . You won't be disappointed. We will return for sure.
Ramen and sides were very tasty and the set up is slick. The free green tea is in the insulated jug so you can hel yourself. There is no sushi on Mondays so bear this in mind if this is important to you.
Great little place. The food is simply delicious, with the flavours coming through clean and authentic. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Plus it was a lot of fun too playing with Post-its!
Excellent food and service. Been to Japan over 10 years ago and the whole experience took me back to that holiday. Very authentic. Will definitely be going back to Maki and Ramen
Pro. A clearly-defined menu, friendly staff, support for multiple CC types. Con. No confirmation of reservation, despite there being available seating when we arrived. Overall. Worth the trip from the 'Mile' to enjoy something different in Edinburgh. Cheers
Friendly environment, delicious Ramen and fast service. I recommend it :) Worth to book your table in advance since the venue is not very big and gets busy quickly.
Superb Ramen and Sushi. Also, the service was really quick, friendly and efficient. The restaurant is very, very small and popular so make sure you book to avoid disappointment.
