We were a group of 8-9 people and we were overall very satisfied with the service and the food. I would certainly return.
We called in for food on our way to the SSE Arena and it didn't disappoint, tasty food and good service, will definitely be back.
I wasn't very impressed with mchughs, food, it didn't have a very good selection for us personally, my husband is a very plan eater, everything was way to fancy, but I'm sure was lovely to other's, and service was very very a low
Nice food but not a really my thing had to order steak as only thing I fancied.. only had one wine that I liked and only one glass as ran out !! but service was good and friendly
Très bien pour manger un bon steak sur pierre chaude... L'endroit est charmant et le service est bon. Merci ! Really good place to eat a steak on hot rock... Charming old house and good service. Thank you !
The food was great, the service was a bit slow.
Good experience overall. Good service and food. Thank you for everything
Great service, reasonable priced food and plenty of choice. The food was very tasty.
Lovely meal & a very great atmosphere, thank you very much
Great service. Great atmosphere . Excellent all round. Well done
Service was good and food good. But, when booking, I had mentioned that I needed Gluten free (gf) options. When I arrived I had to ask about the gf options. I didn't think the options were great, it was all about what I could have "without the...…." Like burgers without the bun, the chips weren't gf because they were fried with other gluten containing foods. So, I ended up having the vegetarian option, which I really didn't enjoy to be honest. My friends however, thoroughly enjoyed their food. But, from my point of view, I wouldn't eat there again because of the lack of gf options.
Listed as top place for Sunday lunch there was no traditional Sunday lunch and no seating upstairs small pub grub dishes only and no need to book a table just food in the bar
Best steak we have had in a very long time
Great lunch and service was quick. Staff were very helpful

Our new favourite place to eat in Belfast, a relaxed atmosphere with quality food, try the Boxty with steak or mushroom and chestnut, it was delicious
Nice atmosphere. Good food. Very welcoming to walk into. Would recommend both to local folk and to visitors to Belfast. Good to se same in Belfast
Great food with good selection and reasonably priced. Close to the city centre and very relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back. I would also recommend.
Over on holiday and was try to find something could take 12 year old with other adults but experience Irish pub like I did growing up. Really enjoyed our meal, really high standard, great ambience and wonderful service. Highly recommend.
Most of us enjoyed our meal however the fish pie was very bland and had very little fish in it, better places to eat in Belfast than here
Not much to choose from and chips were In bits .. side dish was minute lucky to cover the sandwich which was 1 slice of bread .. only thing saved it was location to venue.
Night out before Halloween fireworks. Starters were ok, hot rock steaks were good. Sides and sauces ok. Staff in restaurant were excellent, very friendly.
Had a great meal in McHughs. Food and service was faultless. Would highly recommend the hot stone steaks. Cooking them at our table was such fun
Excellent food,and Atmoshphere . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . .
Great service great food great place. Very convenient to premier inn on waring street. Good selection of food. Very attentive staff and lovely place insidew
Hubby loved the fillet on the stone and the sides were all wonderful especially the onion rings. The cheese board was poor, however made up for by the truffle desert.
Delicious food which was well presented. The food was piping hot when it arrived. The waitress was friendly and informative. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Really good quality food, beautifully presented, in ideal portion sizes. Service was attentive and friendly, just as you would expect in Northern Ireland. Great, atmospheric place. Thoroughly recommended.
good food good service nice atmosphere friendly staff and good location in the city centre but close to the Lagan Weir. worth going for their speciality
Dreadful don’t bother. I wanted mussels but was told they sold out earlier in the day. Ordered fish pie as I don’t eat meat. It was potatoe pie couldn’t find any fish except a minuscule of white flakes fish. Complained and it wa taken off the bill but the manager couldn’t be bothered to come and speak to me. Left it to the two waitresses who were lovely, not their problem as I told them. It was really bad. The lamb cutlets were over cooked but didn’t bother to complain that one. I don’t make a habit of complaining but a small bowl of potatoe pie for £12 you’re having a laugh !!
I thought the food was below average. I had the fish pie but it had loads of potato and almost no fish. My friend meal was better. The service was good though...
Great night. Table ready on arrival. Staff friendly and efficient. Live music downstairs a good background to the meal without being too loud. Food excellent.
We were in McHughs on a Monday evening for a business dinner. First issue was that they only had one sirloin steak ... so two people had to order rib eye when the food arrived all three dinners were rib eyes. The one server was not at all friendly and served the meals like a discus thrower. My meal didn't show up until everyone else was finished and the serving staff blamed the kitchen. We couldn't get a second round of drinks until the meal was over, we tried three times to get someone to place a drink order for us. The wait staff said the manager would be over to apologize for the poor service and the late meal (which wasn't worth the wait.) but they never came to the table. My colleague chased them down to voice our complaints and they deducted my meal and took 20% off the bill. I've been here on numerous occasions in the past but haven't been in over a year and it will be my last visit. The bar is nice and the beer is well kept. So my advice is have a beer in the bar and enjoy the feel of the old building and then have dinner at one of the many much better restaurants in Belfast.
