Overall, a really decent eat, but a slightly mixed bag. We had starters - BBQ pork rib and crispy squid. The salt and pepper squid wasn't really particularly flavoursome, although it was cooked well, but the pork rib starter was both huge and very tasty thanks to a perfectly applied BBQ glaze. We were there for the Sunday lunch though, which was absolutely huge and very tasty on the whole, served with epic amounts of veg (glazed carrots and parsnips, as well as greens, red cabbage, green beans and crispy roasties) and a boat of ale and bone marrow gravy per person as well as a gigantic puff of Yorkshire pud, all for between £15 - £18 depending on your choice of roast (beef, lamb, pork belly or half a roast chicken). My pork belly also came with crunchy crackling/scratchings on the side as well. The only minor drawback was that the Yorkshire pud had been slightly overdone on the bottom, so was a little burnt, which gave me an acrid mouthful before I realised what had happened. But I'd definitely go back, and am planning to do so in time to sample their Christmas set menu (which includes lobster and beef wellington options alongside the more traditional turkey!)

There were a few mistakes with our order but nothing too major. I would still go back as the food was good albeit slightly pricey for a burger in comparison with other places.

Lovely atmosphere, great menu and well presented. A little pricey, but great for a date night
