London is home to some of best Indian restaurants to be found anywhere in the world – arguably the best outside of the subcontinent itself – and when we’re talking about Indian food in the far West, then we need to talk about Memories of India in Osterley. They’ve got long memories for sure, as they’ve been based on Thornbury Road – hidden behind Osterley tube station – for over 30 years, and they boast a local, loyal clientele that proves the old adage that there is no recommendation like longevity. Take a trip along Great West Road and turn off at Thornbury Road, before getting out and entering Memories of India, where you will be met with a menu packed with all the tandoori favourites, classic curries and superlative sides to be expected, as well as their own house signatures. We’d plump for the lobster malia curry, with crustacean cooked in a creamy sauce and served with cashew nuts and aubergines if we’re going for the specialities. Lovely food. Very nice service. A little pricey but worth it. Have tried different dishes and there is not any dish I haven’t liked. Full of flavour.
Always top food! Great service , super location.. parking is good enough.... everything tastes good and some of the dishes are quite different . Place that I will always go back to
One of the things I look for in a restaurant is can it cope with two 6 footers and one person who is 6ft 5"? Memories of India did, there being plenty of space between diners and the chairs were very comfortable. The service was excellent -attentive waiters but not forceful. The food was very good indeed, and the decor unusual but very appealing. Highly recommended.
