More about Metropolitain, Hong Kong

From their ground floor location along High Street in Sai Ying Pun, the folks at Metropolitan offer guests a French dining experience unlike any other. Inspired by metro stations throughout the city of Paris, the Hong Kong restaurant’s interior feels like the inside of a subway station combined with a charming, plant-covered cafe. Metropolitan is inviting through and through, and their knowledgeable service makes the experience even better – just let your server know if you need a recommendation and they’ll be glad to help.

Breakfast at Metropolitan means indulging in waffles with chocolate sauce, filling up on eggs benedict or ordering some croissants or baguettes with jam, plus a mimosa or two if you’re up for it (or take a virgin mojito if you’d rather). At lunch or dinnertime, indulge in one of this Sai Ying Pun French restaurant’s mains like coq au vin (rooster in a red wine sauce with mushrooms and asparagus), cuisse de canard confit (duck leg confit with mashed potatoes), or the luxurious pappardelle au homard (lobster pappardelle). Don’t forget dessert – try the crême brulée for a sweet finish. A little taste of Paris in Hong Kong, Metropolitan is a must-visit. Reserve a table ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

Great food at a reasonable price. The ambiance is attractive and yet quiet enough for conversation. The service is very good and friendly. Overall a great value.

We ordered the warm goat cheese salad to share, and had the rack of lamb and duck breast as our mains. If you are looking for simply but excellently done French food, Metropolitain never fails. The only comment I have is that the warm goat cheese salad needed some nuts for texture as though it was well-dressed, it felt a bit flat.

A great place, good atmosphere, nice decor. Staff are excellent and the food is always good. Just this time did not have the mussels, sold out.

The lobster pasta tastes very good, the sauce is rich and the lobster tender, recommend this if you are a fan of lobster. Services are fair.
