About Mr & Mrs Fox
With the architectural nous of Charlie & Rose taking over three floors of the new Taikoo Place apartments in Quarry Bay, and a creative kitchen philosophy driven by the culinary chops of ex-Cafe Gray Deluxe’s Joey Sergentakis, Mr & Mrs Fox is set to light Hong Kong dining on fire. Or at least carefully sear it over an open charcoal grill. Ultimately, the Swire Group’s latest restaurant (others include Plat du Jour, Public, and The Continental) is a three-tiered gastronomic palace down Quarry Bay’s Tong Chong Street with serious style offering exquisite versions of British and European fare. Mr & Mrs Fox is very versatile, suitable for everything from express lunches to casual dinners to exclusive private dining and event hosting.

Mr & Mrs Fox is intended to be a Hong Kong hang out as much as it is a British-inspired eatery. The venue – all rustic wood with upscale accents – is home to a craft beer emporium and casual dining restaurant opening onto Tong Chong Street at ground-level (Mrs Fox), a much sought-after reservation-only restaurant on the first floor (Mr Fox), and second-floor space accommodating a 24-seater private dining area and an open air terrace (known as The Den – accessible only via the secret bookcase!). Wherever you choose to dine, the restaurant is impressive, with floor-to-ceiling windows letting you pinch a booth and people-watch out over the street.
Whether you pop into Mr & Mrs Fox’s ground-floor eatery for a quick lunch and a drink, manage to secure yourself a spot on the second-floor restaurant, or host a lavish party in the hidden Den, get ready to be blown away by chef Sergentakis’ ingredient-driven approach, which fuses contemporary Asian and European flavours, with hearty British standards the starting point for many creations. Many of the ingredients that make it to the tables at what has quickly become the dining destination in Hong Kong’s Quarry Bay are produced in-house under the watchful eye of Sergentakis, from the bread to the charcuterie and pasta. The stars of the show at Mr & Mrs Fox are perhaps the raw bar selection of oysters and the signature steaks, all from pure Rangers Valley Black Angus stock, dry-aged in house for a minimum of 28 days. That said, a great way to really get to know the scope of Mr & Mrs Fox’s offering is The Foxtrot set menu. Choose two or three courses for an incredible price considering the gourmet pedigree at work in this kitchen.

It was a great experience, good place, good people and good food!!! Will definitely recommend anyone to give it a try, especially their dry aged steak, was such a treat!
excellent consistent food and service. Easy to find coming from Quarry Bay MTR. One of their specialties is the Rib Eye dry aged. Highly recommended. Appropriate tasty side dishes. Looking forward to return.
Perfect - staff were amazing and the food excellent - cant wait to go back!! We had the crab salad, hamachi and striploin steak (shared). Also there is such a great atmosphere on a Friday evening. One of my favourite restaurants in HK now!
It has been a great pleasure eating in here. The service is nice and the food that we ordered give us the best feeling of the whole week.
The general service staff was competent enough but if they had known more about the wines and wine pairings, and had actually understood what we were ordering, it would've been a better dining experience for the four of us. My suggestion is that they learn more about the wines on offer, learn to pronounce the names properly, learn to recognise the names when the customers say them, and become better ambassadors for the good selections Mr & Mrs Fox has.
Service was very good, really nice , pleasant, cheerful staff who all dropped by either with a quick hello and checked on us, or some stayed and chatted a little bit more. Music was loud downstairs but luckily we could still talk in our normal volume upstairs seated in a booth. Food however was not all brilliant. The Australian wagyu beef was very good, green peppercorn sauce was tasty, but for the smoked chicken thigh, the sauce and the chopped ingredients in the sauce were way too salty. The grilled sea bass was ok but a bit stiff, and the veggies were a bit overcooked. Dessert was good--three scoops of sherbet and ice cream were refreshing. The burrata salad had to the best--milky and fresh. The double foie gras was interesting although the pate could do with a thicker layer of pate instead of just a thin layer cos you don't get to taste the real fullness and fragrance of how a pate should, marred by the jelly and the other layer.
We had birthday lunch with friends in Mr & Mrs Fox. We ordered the T-Bone steak and two brunch sets, the steak was tender and juicy. It was a surprise to us that the steak was big enough for 3 of us. The desserts and cappuccino were good too. It was a good experience to us :)
Great atmosphere. Beautiful restaurant. The food was "ok". Especially disappointing was the 22 oz Dry Aged Bone in Ribeye. Ordered Medium Rare, but was delivered med well. Manager comped the desert. Most disappointing aspect of the steak was not the temp however. The steak lacked flavor. It was not properly seasoned. Not a good value at all. The rest of the dishes were very nice. I also had a bad experience with whom I believe was the sommelier. Very rude. When ordered a second glass of wine, her brought out what was remaining in the bottle of Pinot, and poured it into my glass. (No more than 100 ml) When I complained that the pour was short, he was rude and said that what I received was a normal pour, asserting that it was 150 ml. I did no argue and called over the manager, who was kind enough to top me off generously. (He also comped the glass) The manager saved the evening with his generosity. I will give them another chance one afternoon when I am free for lunch.
Lovely designed space that made us feel we could be somewhere else and not in Hong Kong. We ordered the chaucuterie board to start with all 5 meats and this was delicious with warm bread, pickles, gherkins and olives. Our main courses of steak and suckling pig were also tasty. I enjoyed all the elements of the pig main course however I think maybe too many flavours to enjoy all on the one plate. Desserts were a real triumph, we ordered the baked alaska and chocolate mouse which everyone enjoyed. Service was attentive at the start of our meal but did dip off once other diners joined, in particular once a large party were seated which seemed to take the waiting staffs attention and meant we were trying to make eye contact and waving hands.
A relatively simply menu. If you are looking for varieties, it might not be for you. But I am personally quite happy. Good food, very creative. I tried the Icelandic Cod Banade and the Red Pepper Soup. Both very nicely presented and taste delicate. The server knows the menu very well and is able to explain things/nuances clearly. Birthday dessert on the house. Very nice of them. Will definitely come back.
The ambiance of the restaurant was good. We ordered a dozen of oyster which are good. The seafood platter is less commendable as the mussels were not fresh. Our cut of ribeye is thinner than the usual standard thickness and half of it was fat. For almost a $500 steak you get better value elsewhere. The biggest ripped off was the side dish, we ordered lettuce with blue cheese sauce the portion size is sinfully small for $50, With lettuce chopped in nail sizes in a small bowl. Serve was ok we were served by a trainee. Courteous shadowed the inadequate skills. We passed by at least 5 service staff on our way out none bother to say a 'thank you and goodbye'. Restaurant was not busy on that Friday night so service can be stepped up.
This is my first visit to Mr & Mrs Fox. Very please with the dining experience. Friendly staff. Very good service. Ordered the lamb chop which was nicely done. Will return again when I am back in HK. Recommended.
We have been to Mr & Mrs Fox second time with friends & kids. A place we would love to go again & again. Love their burgers, mac n cheese & more.....
The food was delicious, the restaurant was very inviting and the staff were helpful. The only reason I didn't give a 6 rating was that it took a while before we could flag someone down for a drink when we arrived. One suggestion is to educate the servers about the food. One server seemed knowledgeable about the menu but another didn't seem to know anything beside the concept. Overall, we had a wonderful meal.
I sat upstairs. The service was excellent and ambiance was fantastic. We had the pork dish which was very small and the side served with it was really not nice. The strip steak was fattier than I was expecting and as a result the meaty/edible part was much less than the 16oz advertised. I will go back and try downstairs' food, but I won't be eating upstairs again. Great places to have some beers with friends.
It is always a nice escape at Mr & Mrs Fox. Great food and atmosphere; especially the beetroot salad, stakes, and craft wine (Pinot Noir).
i really love the atmosphere here and also the great food. highly recommended people to go Mr & Mrs Fox for brunch dinner or drinks
There are hits and misses. Hit: ambience; cocktails; kids menu; salad; fresh bread. Service aim to please. Misses: taster's plate of 3 types of beef (not cheap at $788). Came cold and beef was like end bits with gristle. Fries was cold; grilled veggies were cold. All food should be under heat lamp before services. Obviously this was not. I was ready for a fabulous lunch given all the write up but was a disappointed.
great restaurant. nice location I have not been to a restaurant in Quarry Bay, nice change from Central/Wan Chai. Service was good, starters were delicious I really enjoyed the haricot bean salad. Mt husband had a steak which was very well cooked just as he likes. Prices are very reasonable unless you have steak which is expensive.
Went here for a saturday brunch and it was great. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The drinks are great as well, although I didn't expect the bloody mary to be spicy! Aside from waiting an extra 5 minutes to go in even though our reservation was at 11, everything was perfect.
Attentive and considerate service. Nice food at reasonable prices. Comfortable environment with adequate lighting. All in all, decent dining experience, worth trying. Using for the first time, I appreciate that Quandoo sent confirmation email as well as reminder to me. Efficient and quite credible
Steak was great as always. Service was perfect. Online booking was easy and smooth. Tuna and kingfish cappachio tasted good and fresh. 2nd floor close at 11pm even they listed they open until 0am but you can just move down to the 1st floor.
Food was really great though a bit expensive. End up with around HKD400 per person which should not be too bad. Like the dessert of Banana Baked Alaska, very different from those I had had before. Much more contents inside and it's really good portion for 4 people to share. Yummy :)
The food was delicious! The decor & environment made for a great dining experience. The only thing that kept me from giving them a 6 was that the wait staff was Just a little inattentive. Overall a very pleasant time. Will definitely eat there again when I am in Hong Kong!
Great food! The steak - perfection! And the staff were very helpful and friendly. We got a private tour of the restaurant at the end of the night even though they were closing up. Highly recommended and will defs be back!
Quick and accurate reply during reservation. Very nice service in meal time. The environment of the restaurant is good. Great quality of food specially for the dry age steak. The dessert is great with the dessert wording. However it is a little bit too sweet. Overall experience is great!
We went for brunch and there was a good selection on their brunch menu. As a vegetarian, I had several choices. It's a nice, spacious environment with a good vibe. The food was delicious and staff were friendly and attentive.
Food was good (flavour and presentation). Overall service was also good (diligent). However, when I was making the reservation, no one asked me whether I would like to have a seat upstairs or downstairs. Same thing when I was there. Did not realize the menus are different.
Nice decor but service not very efficient. I booked a table at 12, we got there a bit early, we were seated downstairs to wait as they had to do something apparently upstairs, then they sort of forgot us... had to ask to get shown to our table. The food was OK but not great. A bit disappointing.
The food quality has dropped compared with our previous visits. My chicken was not hot and the meat was not as tender as previously. My friend's porterhouse was really rare with blood though he had ordered for medium. Our chips was burn, dark brown in color, though they replaced it after our request. But the waiters are nice.
Good service on a busy Friday night. Food quality is good. Cooking style is sophisticated, exotic and deliberating, but may not suit every Hongkonger. Interesting rustic and industrial decos on the first floor where we sat. Music may be a bit loud on the ground floor.
The food, service and atmosphere are great for both dates and parties. Their private room (my party was not big enough to use it unfortunately) is full of tricks and surprises which motivate me to return in future.
Took my fiancé here for his birthday and we had an amazing evening at Mr Fox. The food was delicious and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend, seriously good food and great atmosphere.
I Love the ambience there, very relaxing to fine at Mrs Fox on a Friday afternoon. The food is great, I ordered a Mrs Fox lunch with a complimentary bread and a salad at only $98. A good lunch choice for ppl in quarry bay.
Loved the food! Had a poach egg and the burger. The burger was big and had alot of flavour!!! The poach egg looked small but was actually filling. The only down side is starters are quite small.
always great food, and attentive service. only tip is to keep attentive at the tail end of the lunch service. we were there until 245 or so, and it was a little tough to flag down someone for the bill, buit otherwise all good.
The restaurant deco is pretty nice and the staff service is pretty good for Hong Kong standard. I had fish tartare for starter which was very good. Steak was quite big so I shared my main course. I had a lovely evening there!
Great decor and atmosphere. Very attentive service. Food was good, 2 of the three dishes were good, but aged T-Bone steak a bit sketchy - particularly considering price. Good wine at good value. All in all a good experience and we will return.
Although there are empty tables, the restaurant still prefer us to leave after 2 hours instead of allowing us to stay there and seat a bit longer. We will be happier if we are allowed to stay and not affecting other customers.
Had a great experience for dinner -- staff were friendly and willing to offer (delicious) recommendations, food was on point and at a good value, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Will be coming back for more ;)
Excellent experience. Fantastic food. Great staff - highly attentive, warm and professional. Had lunch at the first floor restaurant - took the three course menu which was of great value. Wil be back.
Servers were very warm, polite and professional. It was my wife's birthday dinner and they pleasantly surprised her with the desserts and their presentation. They have been very attentive the whole evening.
We have a big group of 6 at the beginning, then changed to 8ppl and gradually 10ppl on the booking date. The event managers of Mr&Mrs Fox had been very helpful and responded to all our requests promptly.
Very good atmosphere, good for friends gathering. The service is good. The oyster is fresh and I will come again for the steak. It is the best that I ever had.
Lovely restaurant. Quaint and quiet location. Good was awesome. Would recommend for a special occasion or if you feel like splurging a little bit. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium.
excellent food excellent service excellent decor. The only minor point was the strip steak, which was a little fatty though I believe that more to do with the cut than anything.
food presentation is terrific; good quality is good; friendly service. Good for business luncheon. Price is a bit steep. The setting is casual. It should bring in more patrons when prices are more aligned with the market.
Great food, good atmosphere, however had our booking messed a bit, we ended up sitting right in front of the food passage area which spoiled the night a little bit. We left earlier than what we've planned.
The atmosphere is great and the staff is really helpful! Thanks for their arrangements for the birthday desserts! The food is tasty and look great! A good place for gathering!
Great weekend brunch deal and free-flow options. Recommended for groups, families and gatherings. I would come back here for brunch and also recommend Mr. And Mrs. Fox to my friends.
