About Nakhon Thai

For a meal that highlights the best flavours of the Thai kitchen, head over to Nakhon Thai in the Docklands and be swept away by the taste of coconut, chilli, galangal, lemongrass and a wide range of other fresh Thai ingredients. From their stunning waterfront location on the eastern side of the Royal Victoria Docks – at Waterfront Studios on Dock Road close to ExCel London International Exhibition Centre, Royal Victoria DLR station and Emirates cable car station – Nakhon Thai serves dishes that are completely halal, made with local produce and seafood brought in fresh daily from Spitalfields and Billingsgate markets. Enjoy a selection of mocktails to whet your appetite before chowing down on elegantly plated dishes such as himmaparn (stir-fried chicken with cashew), pad phad khing (roasted duck sauteed with mushrooms, pineapple, ginger and spring onion) or the vegetarian Monk’s Delight with green curry, basil and eggplant.

Further Information

Dear diners, to reserve for groups larger than 4 people, please contact the restaurant directly. At Waterfront Studios on Dock Road – close to ExCel London International Exhibition Centre, Royal Victoria DLR station and Emirates cable car station – Nakhon Thai is all about elegance whether you’re dining indoors or al fresco. Given London’s rather famous reputation for rain it’s probably more likely you’ll be dining indoors, but do not fear, the main dining area is stylish and equipped with a cocktail bar, and there’s also a lovely and intimate mezzanine area. This restaurant is very possibly one of the most pleasant in Docklands to enjoy Thai cuisine that goes way beyond the London norm.

We say beyond the norm because although Nakhon Thai makes use of classic Thai ingredients, there’s a definite feel of gourmet with each beautifully-presented plate. You’d be wise to try the himmaparn (stir-fried chicken with cashew), pad phad khing (roasted duck sauteed with mushrooms, pineapple, ginger and spring onion) or the vegetarian Monk’s Delight with green curry, basil and eggplant. Any of those, or anything off the chef’s special menu; they’re nothing short of delightful. Nakhon Thai is a gem of Docklands and of London, and its set menus are very much worth a shot as well.

The food was excellent & service prompt and very good also... the only gripe was not doing any draught beers, only bottled and only 1 type. Will definitely re visit

There was a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were very attentive but without rushing us. We felt it was fairly good value, large portions and excellent quality. Would return happily.

Nice location, staff pleasant, not expensive for London. Food was very nice but service a bit slow. Starters arrived quickly then had to wait an hour for main course

Food was okay but customer service was very poor. Went there with my friend and after we stayed in the car to have a chat since the resturant was about to close. We got locked in the carpark.my car was parked right in front of the resturant.no one came to inform me that they will be locking the carpark. I called the number on the sign to inform we got locked in but i was rudely spoken to that what was i doing in the car.and that theres nothing they can do. I felt really disgusting .had to leave the car took a cab and came back for the car the nextday. Never going there again... I didnt go in to spend £5 i spent £100 and i got this sort of treatment

authentic thai cuisine, friendly staff, nice surroundings near the river, rare find in this part of London, would recommend especially thai green curry and satay chicken.
