Absolutly lovely view on the water during sunset! The food came quite quickly despite of the busy hour and was very good indeed. The waiter was friendly and open to offer some suggestions on the great Drink selection.

An mainly enjoyable meal for 6 people in the busy and picturesque Old Chain Pier with a couple of exceptions. We requested a swap of the vegetable accompaniment to the Sea Bass (due to a dietary requirement of one of the party) and were told that the Chef did not have any other veg to swap it with (something I found difficult to believe in a busy restaurant). We were then told that we couldn't have anything off the festive menu as we hadn't pre booked it - fair comment until we realised that the Turkey dinner was in fact on the a la carte menu as well. We were then advised that we would have to wait for this to be prepared which we happily did. When the Turkey dinners arrived there was no cranberry sauce and no gravy, and as Turkey is quite dry it really needed something with it.

A friend and I went there for our evening meal and we had the best cullen skink I have ever tasted followed by a huge portion of mussels - fab! We returned on Sunday for brunch and the full Scottish breakfast was enormous - it set me up for the whole day. What a wonderful restaurant - friendly and helpful staff who were more than able to cater for my friend who has to have a gluten free diet. The views over the Firth of Forth are an added bonus to an already great wee place to eat!

Fantastic pub! Friendly staff, great range of drinks and the food was delicious - Will most definitely be back for more. Not a 6 star review as when we sat down for an early meal we were told immediately that they needed the table in 90 minutes - not a massive deal as this place is obviously popular and busy (for good reason) but to be told as soon as we were sitting down immediately put us under pressure to order and eat quickly. Again, not that big a deal and I would recommend this pub to everyone for a great drink and great food - reserve early!!.

We had a very enjoyable evening in the Old Chain Pier having a meal with friends. The food is very good and there is plenty of choice. It's lovely being able to eat and look at the sea at the same time.

We arrived to a friendly welcome, the staff were bubbly and knowledgeable about the menu. Both the starter & main course were beautifully presented, definitely freshly made to order, and delicious. The setting was stunning, with wonderful sea views. We were so pleased to have found such a little gem, and would go again if we were here long enough. Thank you for such a wonderful birthday meal xx

The staff were friendly but not vey aware of what was going.on around them. Trying to get their attention wasnt easy. The food was very good. The service was OK. The waitress was very forgetful and we had to keep asking and reminding her. She was new and very apologetic. She had a health problem that was affecting her concentration and performance. When the bill arrived it was wrong. We sent it back and the second bill was also wrong. We sent it back and the 3rd bill was also wrong. Finally the 4th Bill was correct.

We were with two friends from Boston. They were looking to try some local fish dishes - they were not disappointed! The food, ambience and the view over to Fife as the evening wore on and all we could see was a necklace of lights along the coast. It was the perfect end to their tour of Scotland. Thank you to all the staff.

Restaurant was beautiful, the large glass window views of the water are superb! You sitting there for hours and watch the water go by! Good food that has a wide range suitable for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. This is the 2nd time I have been, my partner and I love it. Any special occasions we always go to old chain pier to celebrate

Nice staff very friendly attentive noticed my bowl of mussel shells was filling so came and emptied it . Food was great and good value. Starter size mussels served with lovely bread was a meal in itself also had the pear and blue cheese salad starter all fresh and tasty. Friend had starter size chilli again good size portion for lunch. Toilets clean and tidy. Would go back. Rustic decor and lovely view.

Nice place with fantastic view of the bay . Nice friendly staff and busy place. The food was average as my burger was so over cooked I had problem cutting through it with stake knife . I've asked number of times for another pint which only arrived as I was about to pay the bill . I have been charged for 3 pints when I've only had 2 and I've not been charged for whiskey shot so I've let it go . With a little more attention this place could easily capitalise on location and be far more better . I would like to go back only to see if the first time expirience was only fluke .

Amazing location!! We ordered fish and chips and we were more than happy with it. The service was great and the waitresses very friendly! The only negative comment that I could make it's regarding the very loud live music. I don't think it is necessary for a place like that with such an amazing view and relaxing atmosphere. It certainly made us leave the place sooner than we wanted.

Beautiful position overlooking the Forth with great views and lovely friendly staff. The food was very tasty - we had "catch of the day" which was lovely and fresh and the veggie option was so good it persuaded our ardent carnivore to forget his principles. Chocolate tart did not disappoint either. A great lunchtime experience. Thank you!

Fabulous food and delightful staff. We had two starters each rather than a main course - the cullen skink was amazing, accompanied by chunky wholemeal bread, the hummus with pitta would have benefited from a touch of garlic, lemon or chilli (it was a bit bland) but the baked camembert was delicious. The view is fabulous!

As always food and service at The Old Chain Pier first rate. My friend's first visit but hopefully not her last. She was particularly struck with the view over the Firth of Forth.
