Providing a rustic atmosphere for enjoying traditional Italian eats in London’s Battersea, Osteria Antica Bologna has been a local favourite since its establishment over two decades ago. From street food like pizzella fritta to hearty classics like risotto with seafood, Osteria Antica Bologna ensures the highest quality ingredients in every menu item on offer. Something of a legend on Northcote Road, Osteria Antica Bologna is one of London’s must-visit Italian restaurants.
Led by skilled chef Marzio Zacchi, who brings years of experience to the restaurant’s kitchen, London’s Osteria Antica Bologna places emphasis on simple yet flavour-packed Italian dishes which fill the belly and warm the soul. Hailing from Biella in Piemonte, Zacchi takes inspiration from the cuisine of his homeland, and stays true to time-honored recipes by utilising only seasonal produce, just like back in Italy. With opening hours seven days a week, diners are invited to swing by any day to enjoy his authentic Italian creations at Osteria Antica Bologna on Battersea’s Northcote Road.
Osteria Antica Bologna’s charming environment makes it a comfortable place to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends, family, or even a date. Start off with antipasti like bruschetta al pomodoro or zucchini fritte (fried courgettes), then decide between several delicious mains ranging from pan fried cod fillet to roasted pork belly with green apple and spinach. Try the restaurant’s fresh pasta dishes like tagliatelle alla bolognese, spaghetti al pomodoro e basilico, or tonnarelli al ragu’ di cinghiale (black pepper spaghetti with wild boar ragout). Specials rotate daily, so ask your server what’s fresh. Reservations are highly encouraged at this cosy Italian restaurant in London’s Battersea!
The restaurant food was excellent, the table was average, sat in a corridor, the wine was over priced, £30 for a bottle of average Soave is a little dear. But our overall experience was very good, have been to this restaurant before and will go again, Judith
