Really tasty food, the Mushrooms on Toast was a generous size and delicious. There's not a huge menu but more than enough to find something you like. The cooked is fresh and well cooked and reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant.

Always love eating here. The staff and service is always excellent, the food is different than the norm, and the small plate portions are very adequate. First time we went we ordered too many even though we did manage to finish them. We loved the duck chow mein with a fried egg, but unfortunately it wasn’t on the menu last time we went, but loads of other choice.

Friendly staff, good food and drink. Excellent value. It got very busy around five and six and this resulted in slow service. This hadn’t happened on previous visits. Other than that it was a good experience. Definitely return and recommend.

Although a 25 minute walk up hill from the main shopping area it was well worth the hike. The menu I feel is best suited for lunchtime dining. It caters for vegetarians as well and the menu is intestine. It is well worth a visit.

Always enjoy the ambience here-relaxed and friendly. Good value for money-we enjoy the 2 small plates-sometimes depends on what you choose to the size of portions-I never feel really full when I leave but always enjoy what I have! The sourdough bread is delicious and there are some unusual dishes to enjoy.

Staff a bit inattentive at first. Seated ourselves got the menus myself and ordered after a few more minutes. Food was good, smallish potions, glad we ordered fries too.

Big open space but with a relaxed cosy atmosphere with very friendly and efficient staff. The food was excellent with a wide range of small plates for sharing. The garden looks lovely too for when the weather gets warmer!

Good atmosphere, delicious food, friendly service, perfect location for the Everyman Theatre. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and I would definitely go back again.

Lovely salad, soup and meat and fish small dishes. Sourdough bread was delicious. Overall nice food and friendly service, will go back again. Lamb dish was a bit bland though.

The food was absolutely first rate. However, the service was poor in relation to taking our orders and when ordering drinks getting this wrong. This has happen quite a few times on our repeated visits and is something that lets down what could have been an enjoyable experience.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, marvellous cocktails, splendid choice of cheese. Really nice venue, fire roaring in the winter and a good outdoor space in the summer.

Great food. Ordered a selection for a group of us. All of them were very good. Great selection of beers too. Would have scored higher but we found it cold as we were on a table near the draft from the door. Also, toilets looked they were half way through being improved and were quite scruffy compared to the rest of the bar.

A very friendly, lively place serving small plates. The food was excellent, and nicely presented, and the beer was superb too. This is a place that does all the important things very well, and with a bit of creativity.

Went for a pre concert dinner service excellent food superb this restaurant is in a basement with relatively low ceilings hence a fair degree of ambient noise is to be expected however this did not detract from the overall experience

Great food, good atmosphere. The only thing that could be improved was more bread with the baked camembert. The risotto was lovely. Will try veggie tapas next time.

Great meal for a bargain price. We went for the 50% off tues-weds after 8pm deal. The food was delicious and I would recommend to anyone wants a cheap midweek meal. They had live music as well which added to the ambience.

Eight of us visited the Pen Factory all bar me where from out of town. All of us were impressed (though not my first time there). The food was great and excellent value for money. We all went for the 2 small plates for £10. though the plates weer not as small as they can be, which obviously was nothing to complain about. Finally the staff wwre friendly and helpful. My first ever visit. It was busy, bustling, quite noisy, good atmosphere. It was a pre-Theatre meal, although we didn’t mention that fact, we were served extremely quickly. We were offered drinks from three separate staff despite there being a lot of patrons, so they are looking to give service constantly. The food was stunning. Excellent flavours. Good salads. The bill was brought quickly on request. Would go again particularly because of the food flavours, and the vegetarian food, also because of the mid week offers.

Great food, wine and staff. Perfect before another perfect Everyman show. Busy on Friday night so can be noisy. Wonderful to see Paddy, Tom and co in fine form.
