Tasty food, excellent service, great ambience and very good value for money. In particular, the Guinea fowl in chocolate and tarragon was delicious. We will definitely return

Delicious food with pleasant staff and surroundings. Would be happy to eat/drink here again in the future and my friends who were with me said the same too.

The food was great, , the portions were generous and service was friendly and speedy : perfect for pre-theatre (as we were), but doubtless great at other times too.

Delicious food wit great veggie and fish options. Portion sizes were good, we were both full after 2 dishes each and some nibbles. Loved the live jazz too

The lunch menu changes daily st the Pen Factory but it never disappoints. Lovely fresh food cooked really well. We all went for the special offer of two dishes for £10 as it was such good value for money. Friendly staff and good service, I can't fault this restaurant.

Faultless food, great wine and lovely service from all the staff there. The atmosphere was just what you would want for drinks and food on a Saturday evening. Can't wait to go back.

Interesting relaxed atmosphere. Tapas style food made for a different, sharing experience. Food quality was good, service fast and the price was really good value

Attentive staff, lovely food and atmosphere. Go there often and have never been disappointed. Would recommend it and have done to many, so try it.

The food was delicious - i actially preferred the vegetarian dishes to the meat ones. Particularly good: roasted sweet potatoes. Our experience was let down by very slow service from the bar.

Couldn't fault the excellent staff at the Pen Factory. The table was ready and clearly labelled, the staff were very friendly, hardworking and new the menu very well and understood dietary requirements.

I had the fish from the additional recommendation which was absolutely wonderful, but the dessert left me a little underwhelmed for the chocolate pear came first the the ice cream turned up when we had finished the meal, we were given an apology for forgetting the ice cream but by then my mother was complaining to me that the pie was too dry. overall I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the service was quick and pleasant so therefore I would happily go back and recommend others to try it.

Friendly service. A bit slow as it was busy, but they must know at 6.00 in the evening it will be...so put more staff on at busy times! Food good, drinks good, excellent value for money.

This is just a fabulous place. Cracking atmosphere, brilliant service, fabulous choice of beers and wine. Then there's the food - beautiful tapas style dishes, fantastic value, and so tasty! I'd eat here every week if I could!

The Pen Factory has a lovely atmosphere with attentive bar staff lovely waiting on staff More tapas then meal but would recommend for any time of day

Enjoyed our time at The Pen Factory. One small crit - we were seated swiftly and served swiftly but once we had finished our main course we got no service at all without asking and they forgot the coffee and had to be asked again. Won't stop me going again but it would help if they kept an eye on what was going on as they pass by.

Great food with much of it sourced locally, and great people serving us...the southport potted shrimps were lovely as was the crispy duck with melon...will definitely go again!

Booked a table for 7 for a family birthday, looked after so well all night, food is amazing and the staff are so helpful and cheery. Still one of our favourite places to eat

We ate early. Food great. Service efficient. Perhaps food came too fast. Never said this before! We will certainly revisit and have indeed booked for next week.

Arrived early and our table was ready. Despite it being busy, the service was excellent. The food was lovely and especially great for vegetarians. Would definitely go back.

Lovely food, great staff and a really nice environment for a large party of 11 of us. The lovely weather also meant we could have a drink outside in the garden area, so an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and will most certainly be back!

Great food and good service in a relaxed environment. We shared 4 small plates between 2 which was just right and the price is excellent.

The food and wine were great but the service was quite slow and there were quite a few times when I was trying to attract the waitresses attention when she would walk quickly past our table with her eyes averted. It was a shame because it seemed like a funky, casual place to hang out.

A great bar just like the old Everyman Bistro. The menu changes daily and always has a wide selection of small plates to choose from. Good beers & ciders.

Great food, relaxed, friendly and efficient service and buzzy atmosphere. Very handy for Metropolitan Cathedral and the Everyman Theatre. I'll be back and would definitely recommend.

Food and drink were of good quality. Service was frustratingly slow at times. We had to wave for attention three or four times despite the place not being very busy. Prices were reasonable. I don't think they're sure what they are yet, a bar or a restaurant? and this is confusing for staff and customers. Nice place though and we had a fairly reasonable evening there.

Food was excellent,eben though they are small plates portions are good. Good choice of wine, great that you can have a litre and service was friendly and prompt

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and nice service, will definitely go back. This was my 2nd visit and it was nice to see the menu was different so lots of new choices.

Service was slow but when we payed our bill they did apologies saying some key members of staff were off sick (never offered any discount for it thou or compilentrys food good thou otherwise would of walked out nice atomosphe

Food good as always, Staff friendly and helpful. We thought the sausage dish wasn't as tasty as the other food we had but it was still very good. Only gripe is the two drinks orders we put in to waitresses didn't arrive and we went to the bar ourselves instead. The fact that the Pen Factory is always busy is testament to the fact that they're serving good food at an attractive price and have a choice of interesting craft beers, We'll be back

Impeccable food. Wonderful service. Lively atmosphere. Paddy's basement continues the long and illustrious story of its predecessor next door, adjusted for our times. The menu is ever changing, always appetising. Beer and wine comme il faut. Lunchtime or evening. Leisurely or speedy visit. Alone or in company. Superb. Just find a way to silence the odd Friday night screecher.

Great Friday night at Pen Factory, we had 10 of the dishes, couldn't fault any. I had a tasty pint of stout and we shared a bottle of red, bill was £80, food came quickly, we weren't rushed and service was good. There was a nice courtyard that we'll be visiting in the summer

Excellent service and great food and drink. Had a tight schedule for theatre next door but staff sorted us out quickly and we had a most enjoyable meal and made it to the panto on time.

Booked a table for 5 of us on a Friday, busy but good atmosphere. Food was lovely and came out quickly, good variety for vegetarians. Drinks reasonable price.

Excellent restaurant with great food - 'small plate' options and sides mean you can build your own meal. Great atmosphere. Service was friendly if a bit intermittent - but they were very busy so understandable.

Good atmosphere although service was a bit slow. The selection of food was good, varied and tasty although the desert options could have been better - maybe fresh fruit salad being an option.

Staff lovely food nice very noisy though wouldn't recommend for a group wanting quiet meal and chat ! Looked better if you could eat outside weather permitting
