Large portions and steaming hot and very tasty. The only downfall was the length of time for the meals to be served. Good value for money though!

Have eaten there several times. The staff are always very pleasant. The food is well prepared and cooked, not restaurant quality but very good pub food. Will happily return.

Excellent meal and service. Visited with family from Australia and we had a lovely time. Would definitely go back again. May go a little later in the evening as it was very busy at 6pm.

The food was absolutely cooked to perfection. There was 4 of us and we all had something different and everything was really really nice. Staff were fab very helpful and pleasant. Tables were cleared quickly which I personally like . If I had to say 1 negative thing about our visit ....I think the place is ready for an update. All in all though I would definitely go back.

Our second visit here prior to flying from Newcastle airport. Great service and big portions. A mistake with the food order was quickly resolved. We’ll definitely use again before future holidays.

Excellent food as usual. I had the t bone steak from the special board with onion rings, tomato, mushroom, chips and salad, my husband had the 16oz gammon with egg, chips and salad! Absolutely cooked to perfection and super homemade chips!

The staff at the poachers cottage couldn't have been any more friendly or helpful. The service was excellent and the food delicious, my father really enjoyed his first poachers experience

No one showed us to our table had to find it our self's. The heat in restaurant was ridiculous every table people had menus as fans no air con.

No one had time to read the booking request so there was no table put aside for us. Also they send a voucher for £5 off my first dinning experience which was at5ached to an email but they don’t have internet so I couldn’t use it.

The pub was busy even on a Tuesday evening, so that was a good sign. We ordered sirloin steak and scampi, a glass of wine and a beer, very good value at £25. The food was nice and the service was quick and friendly. On the negative side the pub has seen better days and I felt it could do with a deep clean, but it clearly isn’t a concern to your regulars. I would go again.

A hidden gem food is all beautiful and cooked fresh. Portion size is also really genourous would definitely recommend to anyone after delicious pub food

Lovely food, big portions and really friendly staff. Home made chips are the best I've tasted. The Prices are reasonable too. We will definitly be going back again soon.

Been to the poachers cottage lots of times and never been disappointed always have a very good time always give good service and the food is really good keep up the good work.

We travelled to Newcastle and called at poachers Cottage for late lunch. We both had the Liver which was very good along with great service at a reasonable price

Lovely food, but I wish the place was a bit cleaner, and it's not the first time I've had to remove someone else's lipstick marks off my glass prior to drinking from it!

There was a variety of options and the food was good at the Poachers. However, the restaurant would benefit from a revamp and some TLC.

Very Good homemade food at very reasonable prices, excellent choice on the menu catering for all tastes and appetites. Good choice of drinks including tea and coffee as well as alcoholic drinks and soft drinks.

Had trouble finding the pub following the sat nav. Had a good choice of food from light bites to a main course if you wanted

Got the rump steak which was lovely, homemade chips and a large dianne sauce, the meal was great. Fast service too with friendly , helpful staff

Homely atmosphere, lovely food & excellent service. My only recommendation would be a fresh fruit option for dessert on the children’s menu. Worth the drive.

Food is lovely here, there is plenty to choose from and the service is very good this is a lovely place for family meals out and caters for everyone.

Food was very good plenty of choice on the menu and specials board Staff were very friendly and the service was good and everything was very clean and tidy the only thing was the toilets were very cold but facilities were adequate.

My wife and our friends had a really good night last night. Great food great service at a very reasonable price. Topped off by great entertainment by 9th Avenue.

WE USE POACHERS COTTAGE NOW AND AGAIN AND ARE NEVER DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF FOOD AND THE SERVICE FROM THE STAFF.THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE IS VERY GOOD. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE BOOKED A TABLE ONLINE AND IT WAS VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD.

Friendly staff great food very well priced that’s why it’s one of my top 5 pubs I would highly recommend The Poachers Cottage to anyone who hasn’t been before

Wonderful atmosphere, gorgeous food, lovely friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Had a lovely evening chatting with friends. Although none on our visit, there is sometimes live music.

Food was lovely but the staff could have been a bit more attentive. Took them quite a while to clear the plates. Also think it would be nice if they provided something for kids, crayons and little colouring books or something.
