Portofino is a picturesque fishing village on the Italian Riviera, and at New Brighton’s Portofino restaurant you can experience a little piece of it for yourself, aptly located on the Marine Promenade. Serving up Italian favourites with lots of passion, Portofino is the place to go for pizza and pasta as well as classic meat and seafood dishes. We recommend whetting your appetite with some terrina casalingo (homemade chicken liver and Brussels pate with mixed leaves, forest fruit coulis and melba toast) before moving on to one of Portofino’s speciality grill dishes like the salmone limone (salmon fillet cooked with spinach and a light lemon butter sauce served with mashed potatoes) or the calzone di polpette & chorizo (a folded pizza filled with meatballs, chorizo, mushrooms, cheese and tomato sauce). Drawing in diners from all over Liverpool to its location on Union Terrace, Portofino can get busy. Booking ahead is recommended!
Lovely food, staff friendly great all round atmosphere. As I am in a wheelchair I found the restaurant to be accessible. Prices are reasonable. Look forward to the next visit.
Marvellous atmosphere Wonderful choice of food Food was piping hot (even the cheese board - only joking) Great service. Reasonable price for the quality of the food. A MUST VISIT AGAIN SOON
Excellent food. Good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive but allow the diners time to relax. We will be returning and do not hesitate to recommend Portafino.
