Portofino is a picturesque fishing village on the Italian Riviera, and at New Brighton’s Portofino restaurant you can experience a little piece of it for yourself, aptly located on the Marine Promenade. Serving up Italian favourites with lots of passion, Portofino is the place to go for pizza and pasta as well as classic meat and seafood dishes. We recommend whetting your appetite with some terrina casalingo (homemade chicken liver and Brussels pate with mixed leaves, forest fruit coulis and melba toast) before moving on to one of Portofino’s speciality grill dishes like the salmone limone (salmon fillet cooked with spinach and a light lemon butter sauce served with mashed potatoes) or the calzone di polpette & chorizo (a folded pizza filled with meatballs, chorizo, mushrooms, cheese and tomato sauce). Drawing in diners from all over Liverpool to its location on Union Terrace, Portofino can get busy. Booking ahead is recommended!
Fantastic food, lovely staff, great overall experience. Would highly recommend. We had the set lunch menu, 2 or 3 courses. All very nice. We will be back for more
Great food, lovely setting and friendly and efficient service. We had a great evening and the staff were very attentive. Lovely old building. Definitely recommend a visit.
We chose the early bird option, as we were going to the theatre. There was plenty of choice of starters, mains and deserts. The service was excellent, the food was delicious. We will be returning.
