Friendly as always, lush cocktails and good music, overall great evening!
fabulous lunch, great choice of food and great service, thank you
Great service and food was brilliant value and really fresh and tasty :)
Made a booking for a business lunch, table of 8. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We got our food pretty quickly and everyone enjoyed it.
It was alright but our waitress didn't explain everything. We'd had a table booked for 8.15pm, we were taken to it fine but when it came to how the men's worked she didn't fully explain that the kitchen closed at 9pm. We had our light bites & mains as staggered (like having starter & mains, aour mains were late & we got told they were going to be, but when we asked about dessert we were told it was too lat; despite being told earlier ordering desert dessert wouldn't be an issue. Food was delicious, watch our for the Gamo Pil Pil though the chilli is really strong. I ended up with what seemed like an allergic reaction. When I asked the waitress for a glass of water, she did get one but spoke to a colleague & serves some elses food o our table before handing me my drink - despite seeing I was struggling with my breathing, my swallowing & my speaking. The Manager (I can only presume that's who she was) did come & check on me later & said I wouldn't be charged for my light bite (starter) - I had only eaten a small amount of the bread, not touched the prawns . At the start of the evening there was a soloist guitarist singing at a reasonable volume, this changed to a fj who's music made it very hard to have a conversation.
First time eating at the potting shed and I have to say the food was delicious. I had the houllomi burger with sweet potato fries and would definitely recommend it. However we were put off ordering any light bites (starters) as we were told they are brought to the table with the main meal which I find very odd. We also found the music to be too loud and had to shout across the table to be heard. When we got the bill which was reasonably the waitress didn't leave the table to give us chance to even look at it never mind get our money out and was rushing us to pay it. When I questioned this I was told the kitchen closed at ten and all monies had to be paid. I do understand this but have to question why the last table booking is 8.45. If we had had starters and dessert we wouldn't have even finished eating by then! Hopefully these issues are teething problems as it has only been open a few weeks.
Arrived at the potting shed for my birthday meal .. Lovely surroundings. The place was actually pretty decent. quickly shown to a table and served. Finished our meal and this is where it went down hill. The first gentlemen, we came across at the bar simply lied to us and overcharged us. We then spoke to a very argumentative manager who thought he knew best. Wanted to use a discount, told me the wrong information. The offer was 2 for 1 across all courses EXCLUDING side orders. However they just discounted onion rings ... I told him this wasn't correct as the offer clearly stated 2 for 1 across ALL COURSES exluding side orders. After arguing with him, he eventually gave in as he could clearly see I was correct ... Little did he know, I work for the company that offers the discount and didn't take too kindly being told 'we're coming off this crap anyways!' .
Took 5 minutes to get seated even though I'd booked due to being offered limited tables and it being dirty. Ordered slight amendments to our meals as my friend didn't want mushroom on her burger but wanted to add chorizo and we both wanted to upgrade our fries to truffle & parmesan fries. When food came out my friends burger had a mushroom on and no chorizo and neither of our fries had parmesan on. Bill was also incorrect. Apart from that good was great and staff were really friendly. Live music was a great addition. Will return in the future.
A pre threaten visit so booked table which was good as the place was busy. Food good but we thought sides were a little expensive for what you got. Had a lovely live singer on which was nice. Staff friendly. We were asked to pay when we ordered! No biggy but at the end someone asked if we wanted our bill so a bit strange? Would defo recommend but book a table if you want to eat.
Overall the service was shoddy and the food mediocre. Loved the live music that greeted us as we walked through the doors. Although we had booked a table it took us a while to find a member of staff who could show us to our table. Menu had a good selection and the kids menu was also good. We ordered our drinks with our food. The food was prompt to arrive with the exception of one of our party whose food had been forgotten about and arrived after the rest of us had finished our meals. We had to ask twice for our drink which didn’t come until about 10 minutes after our food. The food was OK. Nice but not fantastic.
