Drawing on a grand tradition of Scottish-Italian cooking, Qua Italian in Glasgow’s Merchant City brings a taste of Tuscany and Rome to the Dear Green Place. They offer a set lunches, a pre-theatre selection and full a la carte menu in the evenings, allowing them to cater for all eventualities. Their location on Ingram Street places them close to countless bars and nightspots, so you can be sure of giving your evening the best possible start when you visit.

Eating Italian food is always a pleasure, given the shared history and migration between the West of Scotland and Italy, and Qua Italian on Ingram Street in the Merchant City, stands proudly in this tradition. Their menu features a wide range of dishes from the bel paese, particularly from Tuscany and Rome, and often with an authentically Scottish edge. The squid in their calamari is local, their lamb chops are also locally sourced: even the house pate is served on traditional Scottish oatcakes.
Of course, all your Italian favourites are featured on the menu at Qua Italian. Pizzas, pasta, risotto and steaks are all available down on Ingram Street, alongside lesser seen regional dishes such as penne alla paesana, a house-speciality of oven-baked pork, Italian sausage and cinnamon. Qua Italian is certainly a welcome addition to the already-excellent restaurant scene in the Merchant City, and the discerning diners of Glasgow agree – so make sure you book your table in advance.
BUZZING place and staff lovely and very nice meal. Our table was up top and a bit squashed into a corner, that is only negative
Food and service was pretty good. Didn't have to wait long for food, good beer on offer, and easy enough to have a seat. Impressed.
The waiters were abit pushy looks like they were on commotion and hurried you up food was ok prices were okay it could do with a smart in up .
Fast service, nice waiters and waitresses. Food was tasty. Expected something fancier inside. Inverness waiter was a sound bloke and all staff have a good relationship with each other.
Restaurant was nice, steak wasn't the. Eat but my mussels and everything else my group had was amazing, would go back and have pasta instead of steak
Ok place to go. Ham that was served looked like it was straight out of a packet that you can buy at the local supermarket. 'warm Homemade bread' was also just toasted bread rolls sliced.
Food was very good from pre theatre menu and excellent value for money. Service a little slow from main course to dessert. Staff friendly and helpful.
Nice friendly place. Staff are attentive and do their job well. Food was well presented and tasted fine. Portions where fine. Prices are reasonable. Enjoyed it.
Friendly waiting staff if a bit over attentive. Food tasty and reasonably presented. Good value menus available for a lunch time or early evening visit
Food was amazing. However our server wasn't great. Didn't seem like he wanted to be there at all. The other servers seemed attentive and nice.
Good atmosphere and warm welcome, nice starters but the steaks were very poor quality. The whole place could do with a redecoration too! We have had better meals at lower cost.
Got off to a bad start when I asked for water to drink and was called "boring" by the waiter! Lively restaurant with good food although it could have been hotter
The service was excellent and the food was good. Very disappointed that we could not remain out our table for another glass of wine after the conclusion of my meal.
Was ok nothing special. The staff were very good, very friendly and attentive, the food was ok nothing special but still enjoyable, not sure if we will be back
Food was ok. Not using fresh pasta for their dishes. Service was really bad, having to wait over 30 minutes after asking for it 3 times.
Average but at the price difficult to moan!, lasagna bit stodgy, bruschetta bland, house wine bit rough but that's where the money is made, staff efficient and friendly
Sadly, very disappointed after reading the reviews prior to booking. Pasta and risotto brought to the table within 5 minutes of ordering and clearly pre made and heated up. It's not like I don't know what I'm talking about, I am half Italian and was reared on Italian food.
Lovely evening , good food, good friendly service. I would go back in a heartbeat. The atmoshpere was lively but enough space to be private
