Booked a table on line, as soon as me and my partner got there we were sat down near the bar, we ordered out drinks, we were given a menu at the same time so we could order our food, the food was amazing, the service was excellent, I would recommend this place.
First class food, friendly professional service, great ambience. Good location too: walking distance from the Jewlery Quarter and St Paul's Square. We will definitely be back.
This establishment is a firm favourite with a great menu and beverage selection. The service is exemplary but it can be a tad noisy when it's busy.
Food was lovely accompanied by 5 Star service. Large party was catered for perfectly and very warm and welcoming!! Highly recommended and will definately visit again soon.
I consider the Rajdoot Tandoori as one of the premier 'Indian' restaurants in the city. The welcome is always very friendly & the menu extensive - you're spoilt for choice. Irrespective of what you order the dish presented exceeds expectations. If my wallet & waistband would allow , I'd eat hear most nights of the week.
I was early, at 1800, so it took a while for the food to arrive (30 mins). The quality of the food was very good and I have no complaints. However, it is perhaps a bit pricey - given that a pint of Cobra was £4.50 and a main course nearly £13 and that did not include rice, sides, bread, etc. It is a personal thing, but I also hate the compulsory 10% service charge added to the bill - this should always be at the patron's discretion - depending upon the quality of the actual service received. I accept, though, that this is inner-city Birmingham and prices probably refeletc that location. I will, however, be going again!
It's been many a year (~15) since I last went to the Rajdoot, which in our experience had always been good. So we arranged our return for a family celebration and it was with some trepidation that perhaps my memories were somewhat rose tinted. I am happy to say that everyone left saying how good the food was. We shall definitely return and I shall not wait another 15 years!
The Rajdoot is one of our favourite restaurants. The restaurant itself is decorated with many fine examples of homeland reminders which adds to the overall atmosphere. The staff are always very pleasant, courteous & professional. The food is North Indian 'fine' dining with dishes excellently presented, but more importantly - all taste superb. We're already looking forward to our return.
A delightful experience, as always. Made a reservation for a special family gathering of 6 people. I informed them that we were only going to order vegetarian food, they told us to leave the starters to them. The service and atmosphere made us feel comfortable. The interior was also beautiful and authentic. Would defiantly reccomend this to everyone.
I've been eating Indian food for 52 years and have been frequenting Rajdoot for at least 35 years. In my opinion, the chef is one of the best in the UK. The decor and ambience of the restaurant are good and the staff are attentive. A great dining experience.
Best Indian restaurant in Birmingham in my opinion. Never been less than consistently excellent in the years I've been going there. Not multitudes of in-house concocted dishes just a small bistro-style menu of outstanding dishes. setting and decor is of the highest standard too.
Food was excellent! Lamb cooked perfectly! The atmosphere was quiet as it wasn't busy (Monday evening). We attended for my father's 50th. Table for 8. At the end, staff surprised him with a slice of cake with candle. Polite staff and very attentive.
great friendly staff as always , we had a great meal well done. my son and his family came from the Czech republic for the weekend. and wanted a curry, so where better then the Rajidoot they were very pleased with there meal
Expensive average food. Due to traffic we were 15 minutes late for our booking. We were left in the bar area for twenty minutes then taken to a table where we ordered our meal. Whilst eating we were made aware of the restaurants closing time by a member of staff, who also said if we had got there earlier we would have been looked after. £97.00 for two persons for two courses and the bill arrived as we had finished our main course. On the plus side it's a nice looking restaurant with a good atmosphere. Our booking was 10pm and they shut at 11pm. We were in Birmingham to see a show and on reflection a later opening restaurant would have been a better choice.
Never disappoints, the quality of the ingredients always reflects in the meal enjoyed. The staff are attentive but not overbearing. It's definitely worth a visit if your looking for an authentic indian meal to stimulate your taste buds
After living in Birmingham all of my life, I finally visited the Raj for the first time this year. It is easily one of the best in the city. Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
the food was amazing.... however the service was poor. We booked a table for 7:30 and although it was empty we were not seated untill 8. we had to ask to order drinks, we also had to ask where our mains were as it took so long. It is a shame because food and decor are wonderful. I would advise to have a snack before you go due to the wait.
We have been to this restaurant about 6 times with family and friends visiting and have always had a great meal. The setting is nice, staff friendly, food excellent, especially the jumbo prawns. Highly recommend
Hugely impressed by food here - we'd be delighted to have every dish again. The veg in particular was cooked to perfection; melt-in-the-mouth cauliflower! Nice atmosphere with welcoming bar lounge, and thoughtful, attentive service.
it was good but could have had better service for what we paid I would give the restaurant a good view but the service let it down. I visit loads of restaurants and it would come under Toby Carvery experience
