Bringing a bit of South American flavour to Scotland’s capital, Rancho serves up tasty steaks and other classics. Just like stepping into a South American cattle ranch, this unique steak restaurant over in Edinburgh’s West End on Morrison Street is decorated with wooden beamed walls and ornate cattle skulls for a truly authentic South American feeling – book a table at Rancho in advance and experience it all for yourself.
Begin your meal at Rancho over in Edinburgh’s West End with some nachos topped with guacamole, sour cream, tomato sauce, hot chilli sauce and melted cheese, or some gambas a la parilla (grilled king prawns). Specialising in steaks, Rancho uses the best meat from South America for an authentic taste, then grills it to your own liking. The steak is delicious on its own but we recommend trying Rancho’s chimichurri sauce and a side of papas fritas (french fries) or some chocolo con crema (corn on the cob with butter).
Appealing as much to vegetarians as it does to Edinburgh’s carnivorous crowd, at Rancho on Morrison Street in the West End you’ll also find options on the menu like the Vegetario (a veggie burger with grilled mushrooms, sweet red pepper, grilled tomato and your choice of fries, baked potato, salad or corn on the cob). Finish off with some hot apple pie or ice cream with mango and tequila.
One of the best steaks that I have had in Edinburgh and beyond and I am a South African! Good atmosphere in the restaurant and v good service from the staff. Saffaboy
Food fantastic no frills which allows the steak to speak for itself , staff are always attentive without becoming intrusive. My sons favourite steak restaurant , we will be back soon
Starters were good. All four steaks were cooked to order. All four were fillets and were both tasty and “melt in the mouth”. Each plate came with a salad leaf, which none of us ate. Better to leave them off and leave room for the fries. Prosecco and Malbec were both fine. Service friendly and efficient.
