Italian cuisine is a fail-safe favourite, and Ristorante Sorrento is the place to go for a truly authentic experience in London. Decorated in a traditional style with white table cloths and wooden beaming, Twickenham’s Ristorante Sorrento evokes the charm of a little trattoria you’d find tucked away in the back streets of an Italian village. The menu combines modern dishes with time-tested Southern Italian favourites. Start off by sharing some antipasti like the napoletana meatballs in ragu sauce, caprese with buffalo mozzarella or prosecco king prawns.
Then, move on to a rustic pasta dish like the fresh fusilli with Scottish fillet of salmon in a creamy sauce with asparagus and vodka, or a mouthwatering main like the tagliata de manzo (sirloin steak with sliced with rocket, parmesan shavings, cherry wine tomatoes and a balsamic vinegar glaze). Finish off with a homemade dessert or a glass of wine from the carefully handpicked selection. The perfect setting for a special meal, whether it is a romantic date, a family dinner or a group gathering, Ristorante is a favourite among the aficionados of Italian cuisine in Twickenham. To guarantee a table, making a reservation beforehand is recommended.
We had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive and when we asked for the heating to be turned up they obliged happily. There was a small mistake with one of our meals which they noticed before we did and changed it with apologies.
