More about the restaurant: Rothay Manor
The Rothay Manor was built in 1823 and has been a hotel since 1936, so when you make the move out to Ambleside, you know you’re in for a treat that has stood the test of time. Set in the heart of the Lake District – one of the most picturesque parts of the UK – and with Head Chef Daniel McGeorge at the helm, Rothay Manor offers an a la carte menu as well as 5-course and 9-course tasting menus, both of which are available as vegetarian alternatives and with matching wine flights. Having recently been awarded three AA Rosettes, every dish here is exquisite, but from the a la carte menu we love the pigeon or skate starters, as well as the loin of venison main course that’s prepared with red cabbage, kale, faggot, pomme mousseline. The Ambleside area is always worth a visit for the scenery and the hiking opportunities, and the Rothay Manor is worth the trip all on its own: so book a table now.
