Situated right on The Royal Mile in Edinburgh’s Old Town, this pub is as traditionally Scottish as you’d expect for such a location. It’s not all haggis and whisky here though (although the haggis and whisky are great) – The Royal McGregor is committed to offering a taste of Scottish culture at its broadest and finest. Located on High Street and popular with tourists and locals alike, The Royal McGregor gets pretty packed so book your table in advance to avoid disappointment!
With its location on The Royal Mile, The Royal McGregor is the perfect place to unwind after a day spent sightseeing, but with its high quality cuisine it’s as equally as popular with Edinburgh locals too. Tuck into some traditional Scottish food like the famous haggis, or opt for another classic like salmon Wellington (a Scottish salmon fillet in a white wine and parsley cream encased in puff pastry with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables). For a Scottish take on an international favourite, go for the Highland burger topped with haggis and whisky sauce.
With an impressive selection of over 90 malts it would be rude visit The Royal McGregor and not have a wee dram or two, or three… but if whisky isn’t your poison you can just as easily sink some hand-pulled cask ales or sip on a cocktail instead. Whether it’s for dinner or drinks, The Royal McGregor pulls in crowds with its prime location on High Street along The Royal Mile. Make a reservation at this Old Town favourite for an authentic Scottish experience in the beating heart of Edinburgh!
Great dinner, desset and drink with friendly staff 😀.... wide selection of alcohol with whisky options in abundance and for those who dinny like whisky
Was will man mehr? Dazu Bier von der Orkneybrauerei. Absolut zu empfehlen, da es für Edinburgher Verhältnisse auch noch erschwinglich ist.
