Saffrons Bistro is one of those places that gives you an instant feeling of home as soon as you step in. Pale wooden furniture with paintings and walls decked in inviting tones are only part of the draw – the main highlight, as you might have guessed, lies in its unpretentious menu of European and British favourites, which includes the oak smoked salmon mousse, Gressingham duck breast, as well as the signature hot chocolate fudge sundae. Centrally located on New Street and within walking distance from Worcester Foregate Street railway station, Saffrons Bistro is one to check out if you’re in the area. Just remember to reserve ahead of your visit as seats tend to fill up quickly.
Each time we go the staff are friendly and helpful. The chef is doing something right as they always know how to get the different flavours to mix and the meals taste great! Try the duck as a main or the goats cheese starter with the blackcurrent jus... amazing! Thank you for a lovely meal! Leaving here makes you think the normal food you buy from chain resturants is meh!
Great staff, great menu and most importantly great food The whole experience was so good we have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant So good!
The food and ambience great as always. The 2 steaks and a bottle of wine offer for £35 is excellent value for money as well!
Food was amazing seasoned perfectly and the gin choice is superb!!! Definitely will revisit!!
Yesterday we had lunch at the restaurant and once again we were made to feel very welcome. We chose the steak and wine deal but because one of us had fish and the other meat Nick was very accommodating in that he split the wine into one red and one white carafe. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. We felt like we had had a real good treat. Looking forward to the next time.
Saffron was a cosy place, and the service was good. But the food was a big let down, I had halloumi to start which you can't get wrong really. There was a limited menu due to the Christmas market being on. So we both went for the rich beef and red wine casserole which the menu said came with a serving of new potatoes. When the small dish came with no potatoes on the plate it was served on, I asked where the potatoes were and was told it all comes in the dish. My companion had no potatoes at all and I had a half of a very small one, the waiter when we asked for more potatoes said they had accidentally left them out, and gave us a plate with extra potatoes on. The casserole was nothing near rich the sauce so runny and tasteless one consolation was the beef what there was of it was not chewy. Will probably not go here again. We didn't complain at the time as we were on a shopping trip from South Wales and time were on a tight shedule. Think our faces said it all though we were not asked how the meal was.
We had a wonderful anniversary meal at Saffron’s. The staff were very attentive, polite and not intrusive in anyway during our meal. The food was fantastic, we went for the rib eye steaks and they were delicious. Cooked to perfection. Opted for the dark chocolate torte for dessert which was divine. All in all, full marks for Saffron’s in Worcester. I would highly recommend a visit.
Extremely good value for money, very attentive friendly staff who help create a fantastic environment. Has a very enjoyable rustic feel to the restaurant. The cuisine is very well balanced and I would say it has something to wet the appetite of any pallet, couple that with the very good selection of wines on offer and anyone will have an enjoyable, memorable dining experience.
Great service, great food.Enough variety on menu to suit most tastes. Even though it was full the restaurant staff were polite and efficient dealing with our various requests for sauces/drinks etc. This was the second year we have been to Saffrons ( Worcester Xmas Market) time . we will certainly be returning on our next visit to Worcester.
