Since 1969 San Lorenzo Wimbledon has been a family-run and independent Italian restaurant with a simple commitment to quality. On Wimbledon Hill Road, a stone’s throw from the main Wimbledon train station, San Lorenzo is loved by locals and visitors to this famous part of London alike, thus the amount of awards it continues to win come as no surprise. Whether you dine from the set menu or the impressive a la carte you can expect dishes that go above and way beyond the norm of Italian dining in the UK, and you then have an excellent wine list to top it all off. For one of the best Italian restaurants in Wimbledon and indeed all of London, look no further than San Lorenzo. Reserve a table now.
I have been eating at San Lorenzo for a while and it always surprises and impress. The cuisine is inventive and original, with an often changing seasonal menu championing regional Italian dishes and adding it's own twist. What I particularly like about this place though, is the old school hospitality extended by Ghigo, the owner, something rarely found in today's corporate environment. The restaurant really comes alive during the Wimbledon tennis championships and is frequented by many of the players. The secluded garden is a real delight in the summer.
The starters and drinks took too long to come in spite of the restaurant having only 3 tables occupied and 4 waitresses. Fixed price me by choice was poor and we had been there before and then the choce of dishes was excellent. My wife has had chicken as her main dish and had upset stomach.
Buon cibo ottimo servizio consiglio a Italiani in astinenza da spaghetti nel locale frequentato da inglesi molto rumorosi ma questa è altra storia comunque buono
