Bit of a mix-up when we arrived - still not sure whether the on-line booking had ever been received by the restaurant. For future reference it would always be worth ringing the restaurant after making an electronic booking to confirm that they have received it! Once that was sorted out, they found us 3 seats at the Teppanyaki table, the food was excellent, and he chef put on a good show - I have seen better, but he was very good and friendly with it.
I went on a Super Tuesday meaning everything was 50% off. This is a great deal not to be missed as there are lots of options to be had. While most of the food was good (especially the baby squid) the ribs had hardly any meat on it and the gyoza can out late and was luke warm at best. Still worth it in my books though.
Lovely food. Tuesday's are especially good because everything is 50% off! The only drawback was that no one seemed to know who was serving us and it took a long time for someone to take our order. But once our orders were taken, the food was brought swiftly and was very nice. Excellent Mango mousse and coconut sorbet...
The food was mostly pretty good, and very cheap as we went on "Super Tuesday" where it was 50% off everything. The service was a bit ropey though... Pretty early on the waitress spilled my full glass of beer across our table and even spilled across onto the next table. We were then moved to a different, much worse table, in front of what seemed like a fire exit. Staff repeatedly asked my girlfriend if she minded leaving this door open whenever they went out for a smoke. Pretty cold out - this was pretty annoying. The beer had been replaced, but we were still charged for it, which was surprising after all the commotion caused. We may well return, as some of the food (baby squid started and the volcano roll sushi in particular) was really good, and so cheap on a Tuesday. But the service was disappointing!
Restaurant was very nicely appointed and service was efficient, with delicious food. However, waiter did not inform us of the sushi buffet special, which we would have appreciated, and one of our dishes did not arrive - waitress explained that it was considered a "main" after we asked about it. This was despite us ordering everything to come at the same time.
They have changed the style of restaurant. The food is nice but it's no longer Bennyhanna style Tappenyakki where you site down around your own chief and are fed and entertained. That was the magic of this place so I will not be going back again. Plus the waitress we had was rude and unhelpful. Terrible service let our experience down. I wouldn't reccomend to a friend:
