The crux of Sowa Restaurant is ‘Polish food, cooked with finesse’ and honestly, that sums up this Earling restaurant to a tee. An excellent blend of traditional and modern Polish dishes has garnered this London favourite a solid reputation as the go-to restaurant for the Polish community, as well as anyone with a hankering for pierogi or a hearty feed. Begin with some smoked fish with buttermilk, pickled cucumber and wholemeal bread and a bowl of traditional Polish sour soup with quail egg and potato puree.
Following on from that, no visit to Sowa Restaurant is complete without a serving of traditional pierogi (Polish dumplings) with your choice of filling, including goose meat, shallots and truffle sauce; mushroom and sauerkraut or boar meat with chanterelles sauce, spinach and cranberries. For those keen to fill their boots, don’t forget Sowa Restaurant’s traditional beef roulade with Silesian dumplings, beetroot and horseradish; duck fillet with all the trimmings or fish fillet with wild rice, green vegetable and tomatoes. Of course, you also can’t leave without something sweet, so be sure to sample the Sowa branded cake or the frozen parfait with white chocolate, rhubarb ice cream and strawberry jelly. This Earling High Street restaurant is one of London’s best and as such, reservations are recommended.
