More about Spice Gate, London

Whatever your occasion may be, whether a large group or small, it’s reassuring and really rather pleasant to have an Indian restaurant you can bank on. Spice Gate is just that. This London restaurant has a track record of keeping customers happy and coming back – Barnet locals in particular. The dining space on Friern Barnet Road is relaxed and welcoming and certainly has that quality restaurant vibe. You know, when you walk in and know before you’ve even sat down that the place is going to be good, just from the way the staff welcome you? Yeah, Spice Gate is a fine example of that.

Spice Gate showcases flavours from all over the Indian subcontinent in spectacular style that, as we said, make it immensely popular in Barnet and beyond. The chefs here are particularly skilled with the tandoori oven and some chef’s specialities include the jahlosa chicken prepared with plenty of cumin, mustard seed and black peppercorns, the dalcha gosht, a fiery lamb dish, and the fish baja, tilapia fillets in a thick sauce with a generous handful of curry leaves. To be honest, we wish there were more Indian restaurants in London like this one.

although this restaurant isnt local for me, its definately worth the drive. This was my 3rd visit & this time to celebrate my birthday with friends. tables were laid out nicely & we could all speak & catch up with one another. Absolutely beautiful food & friendly service - as per my previous visits. will be back again very soon.

Lovely restaurant with glamorous interior. The food was lovely but some of the starter dishes were quite small portions, king prawn and samosa. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were 5 of us eating and with starters, mains, sides and alcohol the meal came to about £30 per person.

Food was ok, service very poor, we waited 15 minutes before anyone came near us, we ordered a drink and poppadums, drink came after another wait, starters arrived 3 minutes after poppadums. Main meal was ready half way though our starter, we explained that we were not ready, still eating starters. No communication between staff. Would not return

Good quality food. Reasonably priced menu. The Goan chicken curry could've been spicier. We asked for chopped fresh Green chillie to spice it up. Overall experience was good.
