Dear diners, if you would like to make a reservation for 15 or more people, this restaurant can offer an exclusive set menu.
Fanatics of Indian cuisine in London’s Barnet all flock to Spice Gate, a traditional-style curry house serving all of the old favourites as well as some lesser-known but equally as delicious Indian dishes. From fiery madras to mild kormas and flavoursome jalfrezis, there's options to suit all tastes on the menu at Spice Gate. Try some butter lamb, the duck jalsa or go veggie with the sambar dal. Located on Friern Barnet Road, Spice Gate is a popular choice, so book ahead to avoid disappointment!
Whatever your occasion may be, whether a large group or small, it’s reassuring and really rather pleasant to have an Indian restaurant you can bank on. Spice Gate is just that. This London restaurant has a track record of keeping customers happy and coming back – Barnet locals in particular. The dining space on Friern Barnet Road is relaxed and welcoming and certainly has that quality restaurant vibe. You know, when you walk in and know before you’ve even sat down that the place is going to be good, just from the way the staff welcome you? Yeah, Spice Gate is a fine example of that.
Spice Gate showcases flavours from all over the Indian subcontinent in spectacular style that, as we said, make it immensely popular in Barnet and beyond. The chefs here are particularly skilled with the tandoori oven and some chef’s specialities include the jahlosa chicken prepared with plenty of cumin, mustard seed and black peppercorns, the dalcha gosht, a fiery lamb dish, and the fish baja, tilapia fillets in a thick sauce with a generous handful of curry leaves. To be honest, we wish there were more Indian restaurants in London like this one.
Amazing food and service. It is the first time I have been to Spice Gate and will definitely return. Highly recommend for outstanding authentice Indian food.
Excellent service and good food. Pleasant surroundings with unobtrusive background music. Staff attentive without being overbearing and annoying. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone
Great food and service, the whole family had a good meal after a busy week.. Good to to have a good local restaurant within walking distance.
although this restaurant isnt local for me, its definately worth the drive. This was my 3rd visit & this time to celebrate my birthday with friends. tables were laid out nicely & we could all speak & catch up with one another. Absolutely beautiful food & friendly service - as per my previous visits. will be back again very soon.
Lovely restaurant with glamorous interior. The food was lovely but some of the starter dishes were quite small portions, king prawn and samosa. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were 5 of us eating and with starters, mains, sides and alcohol the meal came to about £30 per person.
Great staff & very friendly , everywhere was very clean food was good. Great choice of dessert & very reasonable prices. Good disabled access. Look forward to going again.
Good service in a stylish looking restaurant, serving delicious and really tasty food. Will definitely be visiting the restaurant more often. Absolutely delightful and delicious!
Great food. Great service. Have eaten there before and as good as previous times. Well priced. Relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommend you try for your self.
Food was ok, service very poor, we waited 15 minutes before anyone came near us, we ordered a drink and poppadums, drink came after another wait, starters arrived 3 minutes after poppadums. Main meal was ready half way though our starter, we explained that we were not ready, still eating starters. No communication between staff. Would not return
Good quality food. Reasonably priced menu. The Goan chicken curry could've been spicier. We asked for chopped fresh Green chillie to spice it up. Overall experience was good.
