Residents in the pretty Devon village of Broadclyst don’t have to travel to Exeter to get their fill of superlative Indian cuisine thanks to the presence of Spice & Stone up on the Exeter Road. Thankfully not just the default curry house in the tiny hamlet, Spice & Stone presents authentic subcontinental cuisine accompanied by friendly and faultless service in dining rooms that are superbly and subtly decorated for just the right kind of atmosphere. The proprietors cut their teeth in the Indian restaurant trade up in Birmingham – the second city is also a world capital when it comes to curry – so you know that your booking here is going to be well rewarded.
Quite good. The food was ok but not exceptional. As last time we went service was erratic. Last time it took 1.5 hours to serve us and we were a precooked preordered group, this time just 2 of us. My son ordered lamb jalfrezi. We got chicken jalfrezi I don’t often go to Spice and Stone tho it is our local as quality of food too is erratic
They didn't know we were coming but quickly accommodated us. Great food and service. Waiter accidentally knocked a carafe of water in my lap. Very apologetic and quick to clear up but I would have expected a complimentary bottle or something as a good will gesture. So didn't tip
Very good service. Pleasant atmosphere. Third visit this year and will go again. Means a taxi to get there if you want a drink but worth it. Foods not bad either.
