Spices occupies a venue on Navigation Point Road that is the envy of many a Hartlepool restaurant, right in the heart of buzzing Hartlepool Marina. However, this sleek modern Indian eatery does not rely on the prime seaside location and constant foot traffic for return customers and rave reviews – those things come more from the delicious food and superb value Spices offer. From vegetarian favourites like chana puree chickpeas and palak bhaji to regional padina and Rezala specialties, delicious duck dishes to more bhuna, biryani and balti varieties than you could count, the spread at Spices is phenomenal, and you’re bound to find something more than satisfying no matter what your particular preferences are. Spices is ideal for large groups, given its huge dining area and attentive staff, but it’s always popular so reserving well ahead is essential for group bookings.

Delicious food nice surroundings staff very polite and hospitable we enjoyed it so much we went back the next weeked too. Would definately say it's our favourite Indian restaurant.
Could not fault the food and service very friendly staff will be going back Food excellent first time we have been and we will be going back
Very nice good service as well price OK also kind staff and friendly food was nice and quick would recommend to anybody who likes Indian food.
Staff are very friendly, we had starters and mains The starters where beautiful and popadoms are nice with lots of dips. The mains came with a big portion and plenty of rice. Lovely meals and we would definately come back again
We had a very enjoyable meal at Spices. The food was well cooked and served hot - the portions are very generous too. The service was great too and the only odd part was we were asked to move table during our starters to allow for a large party to be accommodated - we did get a free drink as compensation though.
First time visit. The food was gorgeous, and service was great until after the main, then we were left with an uncleared table for what must have been 20 minutes. We did receive an apology when they did come back to us, though. Decor is slightly outdated but clean and tidy. Would definitely go back as no doubt the service thing was just a blip.
The welcome was friendly and warm. The food was very enjoyable and hot. Little criticism would be that the meat was scarce in the curry, didn't know if this was because we were Group on voucher customers.
Beautiful food and fantastic service, even on a busy Saturday evening. Portions could do with being bigger for the price. Overall, a lovely meal and I would visit again.
