Thinking about making a Sweet Handz booking?

Given the propensity of West African and Ghanaian cuisine to be on the spicy side, you’re going to need to extinguish the fires the food lights under your tongue with some thirst-quenching beverage. All the usual soft drinks are in the fridge at Sweet Handz’ Holloway Road restaurant, but we recommend the less well-known J20, Super Malt, or muscatella. If you’re tired, have a Red Bull, the famous drink that ranks at number three on Sweet Handz’ list of most-often-ordered items. Hard to find in London, there’s great Ghanaian beer on the menu, with brews from the Castle and Star Beers breweries, but you can also get red and white wine and Euro-beer if you’re that way inclined.

The food at Sweet Handz is faithfully West African and specifically Ghanaian, with akonfem (Guinea fowl) stew topping the list of main courses. A number of dishes come with traditional palava sauce, and there’s plenty of delicious okra-based fare to choose from also. Peanut nuts will love the fufu (plantain) and peanut soup with carefully-prepared and pounded cassava, plantain, mutton in a peanut soup base. A trio of the most authentic dishes on offer at Sweet Handz’ Holloway restaurant are based around grilled tilapia, prepared with a special African spice mix and served with your choice of banku, jollof rice, or wachey. Book a table at this North London Ghanaian gem now.
