Tapete is a hidden gem that I would encourage you to discover. The food is delicious and the service is warm and inviting. If you are in the Denmark Hill area I would recommend it highly.

Noisy but only because we were sitting outside. Helicopter, ambulances etc. Nothing the restaurant could do anything about and we appreciated being outdoors on an extremely hot day. V. good food. Wine overpriced, £7.75 at Tesco, £23+ in the restaurant

It's a nice room with good service. The dishes we had were enjoyable. It was just a pity that one of the items we especially wanted as a starter was not available and some of the desserts were also not available.

There were seven of us, and after much discussion, we ordered our food, including a paella for three of us and separate dishes for the rest of us. WE knew the paella would be a wait, but the other dishes we ordered came out at odd intervals. However all of them were excellent, well cooked and very tasty. The paella was enormous and all three of us had doggie bags. All in all,except for the rather erratic service we all had a good time, with excellent and very well priced Rioja wine. We will return.

Food was fine but with a few tweaks could be genuinely great. It's good to have a tapas place in the neighbourhood so I hope they refine their recipes to make it genuinely amazing. Service was attentive and good-humoured, and the patio was a perfect place to watch the world go by from (though was a bit noisy when buses went past!)

We arrived starving, and quickly ordered a whole variety of dishes, only to be told 5 minutes later that most things we’d ordered were not available, and that the restaurant didn’t serve any Spanish drinks (even though they were listed on the menu). Anyway, changed our order, but had to wait forever for each dish to be brought out, and rather than coming all together, they were served like meal courses, one after the other, defeating the purpose of a tapas restaurant. We tried to cancel some orders as they were taking so long, only to be told they were coming imminently. 30 minutes later, the remaining food had still not been served. Passive aggressive waitress too.

Lovely warm summer evening spent on the outside terrace. We arrived as one of the first but the restaurant soon filled up. The sole waitress did very well to cope. Food was good and would return.

It’s a local restaurant to us so thought we would give it a go. Nice friendly staff and food was nice as well. Familiar with Tapas as visit Spain often and it was absolutely fine.

Out visit to Tapete was great. Food was amazing and the flamenco show was awesome. A very nice environment to have lunch/dinner. Lovely service!
