In Swindon’s Old Town, Thai Orchid provides authentic cuisine at a reasonable rate from their chic restaurant on Victoria Road. An ideal location for a sophisticated evening with that special someone, this local Thai restaurant provides an experience that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious. The decoration inside is relaxed and charming, with classic wooden furnishings and lovely table settings throughout. Take a look at the restaurant’s special menu and try out dishes like the lamb in massaman curry, a popular dish that utilises coconut milk, potato, onion, peanuts and chilli to create a slightly sweet – and totally addictive – flavour. Other favourites include the sizzling black pepper beef, the sea bass with Thai sweet fish sauce and the grilled jumbo prawns in Thai red curry sauce. For vegetarians, we recommend the aubergine with sweet basil or the tofu with cashew nuts. Book ahead to enjoy a tantalising feast at Swindon’s Thai Orchid!
We went on a Saturday lunchtime for my husbands birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. Had a very nice time will definitely come back.
Good service very friendly and prompt. Lovely food all fresh and beautifully presented. Very tasty and authentic thai cuisine. We would highly recommend this place to eat in Swindon.
Quality, tasty Thai food with excellent service. Its such a lovely restaurant we keep going back for more! For us its the best in town.
Been several times and always excellent food and service. For this visit for Valentines day, we took a set menu which included their Thai Curry which is exceptional!
We were made welcome at the Thai Orchid by the friendly staff, who were attentive and friendly to our group of four. Lovely decor, delightful surroundings to eat tasty Thai food. The waitress explained all our queries about the dishes so that we knew the spiciness of each dish we were ordering. The food was presented beautifully, with carved flower vegetables.
An absolutely beautiful venue, especially the back with a conservatory where plants drip off hanging baskets like in a tropical forest. You wouldn't expect it given that looking in from the outside the venue looks quite dark. I am glad I got to go in and got proven so wrong. The service was very friendly and food was lovely and very reasonably priced. When we asked for the dessert menu they rolled out an awesome trolley full of colourful options - you could not resist when it was all there right in front of you! The only downsides to me was the fact that the venue was quite cold and the desserts, as charmingly as they were served, were a bit kids party style. I can't wait to go back though, when it's sunny and warm and the conservatory lights up with evening sun.
The food was delicious and when we ordered a 'Jungle curry' we were told that it is very different to any other Thai food we may have tried before. It was very different and amazingly tasty. There was a large party there at the same time but our food arrived with just the perfect gap between courses. The price was excellent value for money and we had regular top ups of our water without having to ask. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We cannot wait to go back to try something else on the menu and there will 100% be Thai custard again.
This was our first visit to this restaurant for my birthday. Great service, friendly staff and amazing food. One of our party doesn't like spicy food which was a bit of a worry but the waiter brought out a small sample of the sauce she had chosen for her to taste. She loved it and was really happy. Such a nice experience . Everyone loved the food and we will definitely be going back.
Amazing food, highly recommend Thai Orchid and would go again. Food was really fresh and fragrant and the papaya salad is a definite must as well as the obvious Thai green curry.
Excellent food and friendly, efficient service as always :-) We prefer to go to the Thai Orchid rather than any other Thai restaurant in the area. Would recommend!
