There’s a rumour going round north London that if you’re looking for a fully-licensed Mediterranean cafe-restaurant in the verdant Newington Green neighbourhood, The Acoustic is the place you need to give a shout out to. Famous for its ample breakfasts and brunches, lunch and dinner menus among Islington and Hackney residents, especially those local to Mildmay, The Acoustic boasts triple certified, certified, certified coffee and a unique tea selection that has met with resounding success. Always a bustling spot, whether you choose to dine in the cosy interior or streetside, The Acoustic is best reserved at the speed of sound.
Equidistant between Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland overground stations, The Acoustic’s Newington Green address is a popular spot among Islington and Hackney residents. Offering everything from triple-certified coffees and an impressive selection of exotic teas to a comprehensive menu covering breakfast, lunch and dinner with pickup meals in between, The Acoustic is a jack of all trades when it comes to cafe and restaurant hospitality in the Mildmay Ward of north London. The focus in the kitchen is on sunkissed Mediterranean fare, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find The Acoustic is very internationalist in nature.
North London’s Newington Green, slap bang in the middle of the Mildmay Ward neighbourhood, is one of Islington and Hackney’s favourite open green spaces. It’s an endearing sight to arrive at The Acoustic on a sunny afternoon and see the alfresco streetside seating area, just across the street from the park itself, thronged with people enjoying the cafe-restaurant’s Mediterranean cuisine, and just as delightful on a snowy winter’s night when the kitchen turns out a traditional Sunday roast to keep bellies full, bodies warm and spirits high. Choose from a famous menu of Greek, Italian, Middle Eastern and Turkish dishes, with plenty of Vegetarian options to boot.
Nice and cozy brasserie, friendly staff and good food, love it! Definitely go back again and definitely recommended. Make sure you book a table as it’s very busy especially at the weekends.
The food was great with good fresh products. The service was perfect and the star was efficient and warm. (Very considerate of allergies.) Wide variety of choice on the menu. Very relaxing atmosphere :)
Another lovely meal at the Acoustic. Their menu is long but I have yet to try something on it that wasn't great. Good value and was very happy with portion sizes- you'll leave there full! Service can be a little slow but if you're not short of time it is lovely to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere- especially on a nice day when you can sit outside.
Had a lovely time. Thank you. The food was good we ordered a nicoise salad and chicken skewers. We also had drinks and an appetizer. Also weather was good.
Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere and nice family run brunch spot - will be happy to come back to this part of town to sample the rest of the menu which is extensive
Great food in friendly, bustling atmosphere. Try the crepes filled with mushrooms and the strawberry cooler. Will definitely go there again. I highly recommend the Acoustic!
Food was delicious and service friendly and efficient as usual. Restaurant has recently been refurbished and looks great. Can definitely recommend, especially outside seating area.
Food was very good, reasonable prices and portions. I was disappointed by the service since the stuff was rushing to empty our table and seemed frustrated that we stayed there for some time after finishing our food.
Great food at a decent price. Service was a little slow but we we obviously there at a busy time (1100 on a Sunday). Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. Would definitely go again.
Good food, fast and friendly service, but the tables are a little crowded together. This was partly because it was wintertime and few people wanted to sit outside!
