Friendly staff who were very patient when two of our family group were nearly an hour late. A great meal in a very nice pub.

We enjoyed the burger, chips & coleslaw and the view from the window table. Great value with the taste card on a sunny Tuesday evening

Average food and service, pretty decent roast though. Not much atmosphere in the front area of the pub. Overall expensive for a two course Sunday roast.

Great main courses but service not the best. 1/3 children’s food came out with the adults’ food. The other 2 children’s meals took an age and needed to be asked for. These meals were refunded. Kids’ desserts pretty disappointing too.

Quick prompt service, food was satisfactory but not exceptional. The roasts were fine but the lamb tagine was full of chilli ,not what you expect in a Moroccan dish! The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Busy evening so restaurant service was a little patchy. Staff were friendly and helpful even when rushed. Food was fine. Fun pub quiz, well executed. Brings in the punters.

Food good. Service very very very slow even though pub was practically empty. Didn't ask if our food was OK and we had to get up twice to ask questions.

Got there to find they had no food left and were closing the kitchen, hadn’t thought to contact to let us know so we could make other plans. Quiz was ongoing too loud to speak over

Good food and a nice setting but the bar staff were seriously under pressure when we arrived early last Friday evening. This pub has a large car park and an outside terrace at the back. The front has nice views onto the river.

The pub is in lovely setting by the river. The food was enjoyable and the ambiance was relaxed. I regularly go back here as its one of the nicer pubs locally

The Bell was clean and friendly. It was very busy on Mothers day but the staff coped very well. The food was excellent if just a little too much for some of us. I had the roast beef lunch - it was delicious. The beef was perfect for my taste ; pink and quite tender. The Yorkshire pudding was excellent - not a easy thing to cook en masse! We'll come again.

Good Sunday lunch, nice table, and good service despite being very busy on Mother’s Day. Decent Yorkshire puddings, but Eaton mess could do with more fruit and meringue.

Good food, nice buzzy atmosphere. Service was a bit slow but I think that was becauase there was only 1 waiter in our section of the pub. He was great but he could of done with some help!

Service was very slow. Several of the dishes that arrived where not what was advertised on the menu eg my daughters “oven baked hake with potatoes and peas” turned up as fish and chips with peas. Food was average to eat but very pricey given quality. Very loud pub and dirty toilets. Will not be back.

Food was great, hot, which is always a plus, service was good. Was a little noisy where we were in the conservatory area, tricky to hear all conversation. Would go back again.

Good service, tasty pate starter, halloumi and roasted veg skewers small portion and zero presentation + why on earth the coleslaw? Good flavours though. Brownies a bit dry but tasty enough. So food gets an ok but small things could improve it a lot, nice place to visit. Worth it if you're in the area.

Good food slight mix up with orders but this was rectified very quickly. The main downside with the Bell is parling as people tend to just leave their cars where they fancy making it very difficult to park and on one occasion almost impossible to get. On street parking is fair but you may have to walk some way.

Hats off to the wonderful staff at The Bell. Really busy night and probably too few staff. Whilst they looked like they were under a lot of pressure (and they were) our waitress was pleasant and efficient throughout the evening. (I hope she was given a free drink when her shift was over). A good evening and with 40% off the food, really good value.

Our table was occupied when arrived. We didn't get it. Staff unprofessional, but nice. Our server was unsure of menu. Rib eye steak ordered, was informed quite a bit later that the kitchen had none left. Two tables next to us left dirty and not re-set the whole time we were dining. The food when arrived, was excellent. Service recovery on the steak was good and well received. We would go back. Better training for staff and service standards need to improve.

Good service and great food. The homemade chicken n chorizo pie was excellent. Fish n chips good. Only negative was the Mexican Platter not being available.

It was so cold we had to eat with our coats on, even though we’d booked no table was ready so we were squashed on to a table that was in the walk way, where customers/staff had to squeeze past to get to other tables - staff were very unhelpful

Service was excellent but food was dreadful!! Fish smelled strange and was very dry, the burger first came out cold, after it was as sent back the replacement came back a little too ‘quickly’ to be freshly cooked, the fries were undercooked! Waitress was excellent, gave us a free round of drinks, but unfortunately this was our second bad experience at the bell and won’t be returning!!

Shame as they served very nice food, but the service left an awful lot to be desired. Appreciate it was busy being a Sunday lunchtime, but they appeared to have plenty of staff on duty. Unfortunately most of the work was only being done by one or two of them and the rest seemed largely clueless. Had to ask for someone to take our order 4 times before someone eventually did! We were also in the extension at the back of the pub and the noise was deafening, so if you get the chance, ask to sit in the main pub which is much quieter. As good as the food was, I wouldn't return in a hurry!
