Very good meal just what we wanted nothing fancy just a Sunday roast So where to try for sure if you want decent pub grub
Good atmosphere although service a little slow, a very busy night. Food good value and staff eager to please, slight issue dealt with vey well. Will go back.
Lovely food and drink. It all came very quickly. However myself and a friend ordered two different white wines and the waiter mixed them up when he bought them to the table.
I went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The food was good and the service okay (there just were not enough people working it seems to cover both the small number of diners in the restaurant and the bar adequately). The big problem was with the band, which started at 8 PM and continued pretty much to 12 o'clock… The park was full of musicians and every few minutes the lineup changed. Some lineups were good, others definitely not to my taste! Quite frankly this was interesting and lots of people that were enjoying it… But it was way too loud and meant people in the restaurant could not have a conversation as this was totally drowned out by the music. So on a Saturday night I would urge the pub to start the band later, say 9:30 PM. Otherwise I would only recommend the restaurant on a Saturday for people generally looking to sit in silence and listen to music, with very limited opportunities for conversation between the songs
I haven't been there for a while and liked the new menu. Good place to go in and have a quick or leisurely lunch. Nice service and very pleasant experience.
Great food, great atmosphere and good service. Had the ribs which was not on the menu but the manager checked and they had some, had them and they were lovely. Thank you for looking after us.
The service was sluggish. I had to chase the staff to take the order. The food and drink was overpriced for what it was. Dissapointed
Easy to book table and time online, staff were friendly and attentive, providing good service to compliment the good food. We Will consider coming again.
Nice food, huge Sunday roast. Service okay overall nice place, good location with car park at the rear. Has a nice relaxed vibe and would return.
Food was great and the musician who stood in at the last moment due to the booked band cancelling at the last minute was really good, the other customers seemd to enjoy his music as well.
Better experience than the last time I went there. Food was good but I think the staff could smile a bit more. Will go again sometime.
The food was tasty, the portions were ample and with a good wine selection at reasonable prices we had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and we would happily go there again.
Lovely food and attentive service. We Will definitely return to try out some more of the menu. I Recommend the beef burger- tasty and juicy.
Every time I eat here the service let's them down. Surley staff, slow service, people clearing their own tables, staff having to be prompted to bring menus . It's as if they're employed but just not trained at all. Very frustrating as the food isn't bad (although my peppercorn sauce was watery and extremely insipid).
I had dinner here with my teenage daughter. The service was great and the food was good. Not fine dining but very tasty. We had a great evening at the Bell.
Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good. My criticism would be that the lunch menu should contain more "light" choices as you don't always want a large meal at lunchtime. Perhaps a choice of sandwich type things would be nice. Overall though, we were very happy with our meal and the place in general.
Great food and friendly staff makes this an ideal location for a meal out with partners, family or for a drink after work. Highly recommend this location
Great Restaurant and garden area, ambience very good.. the only reason 5 given is delay in service of our food initially.. took quite a long time for our starter to come and the restaurant was not packed.
Service. Atmosphere. Food all excellent. Location superb. What better than to enjoy a meal whilst watching yachts on the Thames Staff very welcoming. Will be back!
Probably the best value roast dinner I have had in a pub for a long time. Excellent quality and quantity and very nicely presented on the plate
I have been going to the bell for years its always a lovely place to eat with happy and polite staff the food is very nice and well priced.
Great place, felt like it was in the countryside. Not cheap, but then eating out these days for a family seems to cost £100. Great service, and very friendly
The Bell in is a lovely pub on the River Thames. I had booked a table in advance, and they were happy to move tables when we asked to. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I have never had a bad meal there.
Great food ... great waiter My family and I went on Mother's Day so it was busy and sometimes slow but the food and the service by are waiter was excellent
The Bell Inn is a great pub. Nice selection of ales and really good food for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. We would highly recommend.
This was an experience not to be repeated. When one is entertaining to be greeted by the news that bills could only be paid by swipe/touch card as they were having problems with their c/c connection and a walk to the nearest cash point half a mile away was called for to settle the bill. The two of the main dishes were quite acceptable, although one questions the need to place a steak pie on top of a melange of creamed potato and cabbage and drench it with gravy. The fried hake when the fish was removed from a thick cloak of batter was quite tasty. The bread served with dipping oil that accompanied a pasta dish was thought to be stale, whilst the oil was strangely served in a small enamel baking dish. Two ice cream deserts were also served in small baking dishes. The presentation was to say the least unusual. However it must be said that we were served by a charming and attractive waitress. I would ad I am a local resident and have dined at The Bell before but doubt I will repeat the experience.
Our lunch order was taken but then not given to the kitchen, resulting in a 45 minute wait. Luckily we were not on a tight timetable. We were offered free drinks for the delay, however. The food was good, but I think you are sometimes understaffed, which results in service problems (which we have occasionally experienced before).
Good option for Sunday lunch. Staff are friendly. There is a good atmosphere, not too loud but not too quiet. Would definitely recommend to others
The food was amazing. Couldn't say anything bad about it at all. Service was good too. Would definitely be returning for food. Drinks are a bit expensive but it's a nice pub. Really good for a quiet romantic dinner
Delicious food and pleasant waitress who explained everything we wanted to know. We'll be back. It was very good value too. Not at all what I expected from a Japanese restaurant.
Excellent food and service, it is rare to find hand cooked food in pubs these days. Absolutely first class and generous portions. Will certainly be going back.
I think it has changed hands. The food was still good but the bar staff seemed timid and unsure of themselves. One in particular seemed to be doing her best to avoid serving. It's a lovely pub so I hope the staff get up to speed.
Food was good but service was poor. Not enough staff, who are not trained do don't know what service is which really let a potentially good spot down terribly. What a shame.
Pretty satisfied with the Sunday roast. Called in at 11h to book at table to be told nothing was available before 15h. But when looking online i could book for 14h. So i booked online. Maybe management should look into allocations before turning down people on the phone. Other than that the roast was nice, my friend and I both had chicken. But the desert were a little too big. Crumble was tasty, chocolate brownie was over cooked and too large.
Service was limited. There wasn't anyone around for ages. Mainly serving behind the bar and no one managing the restaurant. The chips weren't homemade and the coleslaw was a meagre serving.
Firstly they messed up our booking, I booked on line, when I checked that everything was ok, by phone, it turned out that I didn't have a booking. But they managed to get is a table. The staff were very sweet, but it took over an hour to get our drinks order taken and we had been there over two hours before we got any food. My food (fish n chips)was ok, but my sisters was disgusting slop!
Very nice, I would have preferred a lunch menu but I managed to eat a full meal after all ! Easy parking & very nice ambience!
Good reliable place to eat and drink. Usually not too busy. Service is good and friendly. On this occasion we did need to go to the bar to get served and get the bill rather than at the table itself. Not a big problem but a little more attention at the table would have been better.
Very nice evening, although the team need to learn to make a good Irish coffee, looked more like a latte!! Would recommend though, food was tasty.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Great view of the river. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Bar staff not so much and service was a bit slow when it wasn't busy. Would go again though. Great vegetarian roast
