Think about what makes a classic British pub. What probably comes to mind is an old-style building surrounded by green, a nice outdoor seating area, log fires inside, a bar serving top tipples and, of course, British pub food. You’ll find all of this at The Berkeley Arms on Bosham’s Delling Lane, just on the outskirts of Chichester and a charming, uncluttered coastal village – quite the perfect setting for a pub and restaurant such as The Berkeley Arms, we’re sure you’ll agree. Rooted in history and loved by its community, this is traditional British dining at its very best. Reserve a table now.
In the gorgeous greenery of Bosham – some of the most pristine countryside in England – The Berkeley Arms is a pub for all seasons. Roaring log fires in the winter, al fresco dining space in the summer, British dining doesn’t get any better than this. Not far west of Chichester, this pub and restaurant is fit for families and any casual occasion requiring excellent service, a warm, hearty Sussex welcome and a bar that’s stocked with an international selection of wines, real ales and cool beers. Then, of course, there’s the food, from a little nibble to a Sunday roast with all the trimmings, Bosham banks on The Berkeley Arms for rather a lot.
Most will already know what we mean when we say British pub classics, and here at The Berkeley Arms they’re served seven-days-a-week for lunch as well as dinner (unless it’s Sunday, then it’s roast dinners with all the trimmings until 5pm). Popular dishes from the food menu here in Bosham include fresh fish with proper chips and veg, as well as speciality sausages that are pure and true, hearty fare that’s cooked with love by chefs who know their stuff. It will leave a smile on your face, for sure, so whether you’re a local or you’re coming from Chichester, a reservation at The Berkeley Arms is absolutely worth it.
Nice stmosphere excellent food, very tasty huge portions and well priced and plesant service. We will happily return again and even order the same food.
Very friendly service. Lovely haddock with rarebit crust from the specials board. Excellent veg to accompany. Red cabbage a real favourite. Feels like a proper pub. Not too complicated and very nicely and genuinely so. Excellent value too.
Family Sunday lunch for 4. Both pub and restaurant very busy, so we did wait a little longer than usual but when our meals arrived we were not disappointed. 3 of us had the roast lunch - 1 beef, 1 lamb and 1 turkey - and the 4th chose the Steak and Ale Pie. All came piping hot and with 2 dishes of fresh vegetables. All the meats were lean, tender and plentiful, and we know Linda makes excellent pies and this one lived up to expectations. Great to see the pub doing so well, but hardly surprising with such a good woman at the helm!!
