Excellent dining experience, with a great quality of food, at a good price. Made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend!!
Excellent food and service. Can’t wait to return for food and drinks.
Food was lovely surroundings was lovely staff great would definitely go again
Our 3rd visit, really lovely food, great location. Willndefinately visit again.
Food was poor. The roast dinner especially. Unpeeled carrots, no mix of vegetables, roast potatoes were boiled not proper roast potatoes. Beef was not Angus roast beef as stated on the menu but brisket! . It was very dry and overcooked. I complained and got another but just as bad. Starters poor and the desert should have been raspberry gin cheesecake but came with a mixed frozen berry sauce which contained strawberries which I am allergic too. luckily I noticed , but again was not what was stated on the menu. I did complain whilst there but did not take seriously. Very disappointing from the food previously by the old owners . No Comparison. Will not be going again for food.
The boathouse use to be one of our favourite places to eat we thought we would give it a go even though it had been taken over by new management where should I start on arrival you could smell old cooking far from the kitchen the inside of the pub wasn’t as clean as it use to be the tables were dirty/slightly sticky and the floors weren’t that clean either You could only have a set Sunday lunch menu no a la Carte My daughter said mum do u really wanna eat here if the smell of cooking fat is effecting u u I said no let’s give it a try My daughter had chicken liver pate well it was very sour and u only got a very thin slice of pate wasn’t nice at all We both decided to have chicken roast dinner we to say we we’re extremely disappointed was an understatement the chicken was dry cabbage was raw the mash potato was cold and lumpy roast potatoes were under cooked and cold and watery gravy which u could see at the hatch of the kitchen that it was just left sitting there I spoke to a member of staff and she asked me if I would like it reheated I said no thank you she then offered a fresh one which I declined You could see by the people that were eating lunch most of them left potatoes and veg I was devastated that a place we had been going for years had go so down hill
Only visited 3 weeks ago got the same order everything was different. The mushroom starter was amazing last time with garlic and cream sauce. Yesterday it was bland, no sauce and presented totally differently. We ordered the beef dinner. 3 weeks ago it was lovely succulent thick cuts of beef. Yesterday it was sliced thin totally presented differently and we had to order more veg and gravy at an extra cost. It’s frustrating because it’s was spot on bet seems like costs are being cut already but the prices are the same. People will start to not go back if they receive food like that yesterday. Would love and explanation to why everything was so different in such a short space of time and we paid over £100.
We ate here for the first time since it reopened, the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious and to top it off they also had my favourite wine, we will be eating here again, highly recommend.
Disappointing menu. Only 3 fish choices 2 with meat in them, why? 4 vegan or vegetarian and 2 of those where salads. I think chefs need to get a bit more inventive and perhaps realise being vegan or vegetarian isn't always a health choice so salads don't cut it!
Brilliant chicken tikka, wife had the duck said she’d had better a bit chewy and the edges could have been more crispy. But overall very enjoyable
